Meeting people/making friends in new area

I've lived in Dallas for about 2.5 years now and have made quite a few friends through work, a baseball league I'm in and through those friends. My wife hasn't had the same luck. I found a few websites for her to try but for anyone who moved to a new area any suggestions for how you or your wife/girlfriend made new friends?

Look on the bright side. If she does not make friends with any guys then there is no chance for her to cheat on you. So it's a plus.

*laughs*sighs* what a funny and sad way too look at it Funky C.

      JMW,

Making new friends at any age is a pain.
Trying too make friends from online is just as hard as offline.
Is there any groups that she'd be interested in, much like how you have Baseball?

I feel the older I get, it can be a bit harder to make friends like I used when I was younger.

Maybe you could look for like an interest group for her; a book club or something? If you and your wife have kids in school, maybe she can join the school's parent-teacher-student organization?

Just some thoughts from a college kid.

If she/y'all are religious, joining or attending a church is an option.

About 75% of my friends when I lived in Maryland were from church. The rest were from work or met online.
