VT is a bigger school, and also the better school, admissions number don't mean much. Of course, it all depends on what you major in.

Ehhhh, how can you say its the "better" school, that doesnt make any sense to me at all.....

San Diego State University
Cal State University San Marcos
Cal Poly Pomona

I intend to go the San Diego State though.

i go to UNM. i hate all MWC teams and schools

Same way I can say UVa is better than VT; UNC and UVa are pretty even; and Duke is better than all 3 of them. The quality of the faculty and the quality of the students go a long way in determining the quality of the school along financial resources, and other considerations. It's basically how US News does their rankings, which is not meant to be taken as fact, but gives a pretty good idea as to how schools compare with one another. Universities are ranked and compared to each other every single year, it's not like one can't be better than the other.

When I was applying to school, UVa, W&M, and VT were a very clear cut 1, 2, and 3 in the state. JMU seems to have crept up there, but those are still the top 3 IMO.

I wound up going to UVa. I liked Cal Berkeley and Georgia Tech as well, but there's no way I could justify the extra cost, seeing as they cost 3 times and 2 times as much as UVa, respectively. If I hadn't have gotten into UVa, I probably would have wound up at VT.

So, do you have any idea what general area you might want to go into (i.e. business, engineering, reading/writing type stuff, etc.)? If you can narrow it down just by that much, it might make choosing a school a bit easier.

who cares how hard it is to get in? Alabama has been the home of the most Academic All-Americans 3 of the last 4 years(Harvard was the 1 year we didnt win)
