As far as this upcoming Hurricane season, unfortunately they're saying it's going to be very active and it sounds like it's going to be just as bad as last year, if not worse.
I can't believe we're just two months away from the start of the Hurrican season.
Scientists are calling for above-average activity this year as well, predicting 17 named tropical storms, nine hurricanes and five major hurricanes – Category three or higher. An average season has 9.6 named storms, 5.9 hurricanes and 2.3 major hurricanes, according to the National Weather Service.
“Though these statistical predictions cannot portend when any of the storms will form or where they will go, forecasters calculate an 81 percent chance that at least one major hurricane will hit the U.S. coast in 2006,” according to the Live Science Web site.
There is an above-average chance that a major hurricane will make landfall in the Caribbean as well, according to the Web site.
This is really a shame, because there are so many people still cleaning up from last years storms. I couldn't imagine having my home destroyed, then rebuilding only to have it destroyed again. That's what some of these people are going to go through.
And for those curious...
