What the heck is going on with the weather?

2 huge hurricanes last year, tornadoes down the street from me in Novemeber, now tornadoes are hitting every state in the midwest it seems. Has it ever seemed this bad before? I've only got 21 years to judge from, but I can't remember it ever being this bad, this often.

yeah - the weather does seem to be a little wacky lately.. thankfully i dont live near "tornado alley" nor down near "hurricane central", but they are expecting a big hurricane to hit LI soon & with the mess of roads & traffic, makes it interesting to see how evacs would be done.. man, i turn on the news & it seems there must be a tornado almost every day

First of all don't buy into the media hype... I will agree that the two hurricanes last year were bad, but I wouldn't worry too much about these tornados...these happen all the time across the midwest...It's just life, but it has now become 'cool' for the media to hype these things up.

I'd be curious to see more recent figures. And when you say "I wouldn't worry too much these ... happen all the time". I've been in southern indiana for 21 years and last year was the 1st of "all the time." Iowa university today? all the time?
