5 Things You Like About Your Job

Saw this on another forum though it was a good idea to bring it here since I just got a job three weeks ago. I work in the office of company that does big rigs.

1. I get to watch baseball on the Net while im auditing invoices
2. I get to go to work instead of going to school since im on co-op
3. I dont work weekends and only till 5 at night.
4. Boss is pretty cool and doesnt treat me like a little kid and even asks for my opinon on the computer program we use.
5. I get to work on a computer with 5 screens so i can watch and look at stuff on the Net while im doing my work.

1 - I never have to work on weekends
2 - I always will work Day shift no matter what and get off at 5pm
3 - I have my Own office To get all my work done so i can Everything stays comfortable and Neat where im at
4 - I honestly after lunch break dont have very much to do at all, Thatz how my Position is tho Until I start gettin more to do.
5 - I started the year out with 11 days vacation and had only been workin here 2 months, That was great

1. I'm working with my Papaw, who I love spending time with
2. I make $12 an hour
3. If I want a day off, I just let him know. Very flexible
4. I'm learning a trade that's very valuable. The things I'm doing will be important for every day household tasks. Instead of calling a handy man to do the job, I'll know how to do it instead, saving money.
5. I don't work weekends

2. Co-workers and boss in our IT corner of the office are very nice.
3. In front of a PC all day so I can surf when I want (and my boss doesn't care as long as I get my work done).
4. Flexible hours. Allowed to leave for Dr's appointments whenever without having to use PTO (paid time off), can take as long as I want for lunch etc.... Just have to get everything done. Typical days for me are 9 hours, but some are longer depending on what needs to be accomplished.
5. I enjoy what I'm doing and where I'm at. It might entail working longer hours or weekends on rare occassions (upgrading a domain controller, exchange server etc...), but it's worth it.

1. Money
2. No weekends
3. Flexible work hours. I just have to get my monthly hours in, doesn't matter when. So it is pretty easy to take days off without having to use vacation.
4. I work in a lab all day, so I don't have to deal with people. I just see my 2 or 3 other co-workers each day and we all get along well.
5. I like what I do.

I'll do 5 things I like and 5 things I don't like:

Like:
1. Money
2. Two LCD TV's so we can watch TV while we work
3. Most of the people are nice
4. Small company so we get many perks, for example, the president is taking us on a three day fishing trip off coast of Louisiana in June
5. Dart board so we can play darts if we're not busy

Don't like:
1. Having to work long hours on some weekends when we do upgrades or deployments
2. Dealing with clients
3. Dealing with clients
4. Dealing with clients

5 Things:
1. The people. You have to have good people to work with, it makes or breaks the job.
2. They are paying for my masters degree, no strings attached.
3. The flexibility. I have to pick up my baby daughter if she gets ill, etc, and I never get hassled about it.
4. The work, do alot of "outside of the box" projects.
5. Its 4 miles from home.

3. Off three straight days (Thur, Fri, Sat)

4. All the free chicken I could ever want

5. Full medical & Dental for my family and I. 401K & Stock purchase program (for every dollar I'm in, they match it with a dollar)

5. Perks. Company has club box tickets for the Eagles, season tickets for Phillies, and the Boston Red Sox Class A affiliate Wilmington Blue Rocks. Gym on site.

I actuallly messed up my off days LOL (Thur, Fri, & Sat it should read), but Sun's seem off as they are only half days.

I'm a network admin

1. Money
2. Flexible Schedule. As long as I get my work done, I can pretty much come and go as I please.
3. Technology. We're always buying new toys.
4. PC/Internet Access all day long.
5. My Boss. I have an awesome boss. He's always telling me to take off early and will go to bat for me whenever I need him to.

Manager for Car Rental company:

1) use of car
2) free gas
3) ability to arrange car use for vacation/trips
4) flexibility with other managers to switch schedules
5) cant think of a 5th


now dont get me started on the bad stuff -- ie: stuck on the same schedule for 3 + years, have to wait for late flights (including & up to the weee hours of the AM), etc...

I have a pretty sweet deal since I work for my father.

- I can do anything online during work days (AIM, internet, stream ESPN Radio, unfiltered e-mail). Also, we have a 37" plasma TV with cable in our conference room. So for afternoon Met/Yankee games I'll bring my laptop in there and watch the games.

- Flex hours: I'm suppose to work 8am to 4:30pm but that usually doesn't happen

- 1.5-2hr lunch breaks: I go to the gym every day during lunch, it's usually about 1.5 hr deal then getting back to the office, showering and grabbing a bit to eat usually takes about two hours total.

- I'm always busy: there's only three of us who work for the company so when I'm actually at work I usually have plenty of stuff to do, cept when I'm whoring up OS.

- Days off: as long as I have a legit reason for taking a day off my father will let me have it off. I went to the 1pm Yanks/Royals game last Thursday. If I'm visiting some of my boys in NYC or Boston for the weekend I'll usually leave Thurs night or Fri morning to beat the traffic. Definately a good deal.


Now I just need to double my salary and I'll be happy!

Part-time worker at a boarding kennel.

1) It's the easiest job ever, all I have to do is watch dogs play.
2) Marcus Giles brings his dog to us.
3) Everyone agrees, I'm the best worker we have.
4) Aside from Saturdays, I'm only there for five hours a day on three days.
5) I'll probably get 35+ hours when the semester ends.
