Re: Summer Jobs
Not really a summer job, but I just submitted my application to EB Games a couple days ago, I'm going to go back tonight to talk to the manager and see if he saw it or not (he wasn't there when I turned it in), since I'm going in that direction for some food.
Hopefully I get the position, they only have 3 people working there right now (including the manager), they can spare one more spot for me.Blind to this impending fate

So when I went in tonight..he said I need to have some prior experience before he'd hire me, so I'm looking into other places now.
My list:
Robek's - Smoothie place near my school and house
Baskin Robbins - Probably a good summer-time job
Sport Chalet or Best Buy - Worth a shot
Maybe a Bakery or something..I dunnoBlind to this impending fate

That's ****ed up.
I had a job since last summer working at a small grocery store, stocking shelves. Then business got bad, so they had to let me and the couple of others who work there go. At the time they said it would probably only be for a couple weeks, but it's been over a month, so things aren't looking good. Looks like I need to find a new job.
I'm going to apply to Best Buy, and maybe Target. I could easily get a job at Burger King, but I don't really wanna work fast food.
Worst case, I can get a job at some school as a janitor for the summer.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Summer Jobs
I worked at the Boys & Girls Club a couple summers ago. As long as you get along with kids, it's a fun and easy job. If you're still in school, you should be able to find work through work study there. It's easy and you get to play games and other fun stuff like that."You should only drink to enhance your social skills." -Barney GumbleComment

The grocery store idea isn't bad.
I did landscaping all last summer. A good workout, solid tax-free pay, and fun times, especially if you're working with friends. I might try for something closer to my field, but I won't be disappointed to have to fall back on landscaping again.Comment

when i was in college, during the summers i worked at a post office distribution center. hours were 3-11pm. great pay to start $12/hr), and the supervisors would take us down to the bar for a 9pm liquid lunch.Comment
