Hey I'm a junior in Accounting right now and I was just wondering if anybody out there is in the field. If so, what advice could you give and what did you wish you knew about it before you graduated. Like what is your job like compared to what you were learning in school? Is it totally different or a lot harder? Stuff like that. I'm probably going to graduate on this 5 year program with my Masters and a CPA.

The stuff you learn in the classroom is definitely harder than the real world. Once you land your job, common sense and memorization of Gaap are all you really need.Chalepa Ta Kala..... -

Well, i work in accounting and I can tell you that it gets pretty repetetive. Nothing to worry about.
Every company has their own particular system. Once you learn it (of course they'll train you), you can always find work in that field.
i didnt take it in college although my wife did, and its def harder than when you're in the workplace.
You plan on getting a masters you could be a controller, even management material. Lots of long hours that you will have to love the work to really enjoy.
Deadlines and such aer always there.Comment
