that's tough Dice...it's like losing a member of your family when a pet dies. I can't imagine just finding her there, that'd be so sad. My family's had to put 2 cats to sleep, more because they were old and had illnesses that weren't gonna get better.
I've had my cat for a year now, and it's the first one that's mine alone, and i can't imagine what it'll be like 10+ years from now. Just remember the good times, and that our pets led lives like royalty lol
