Rant of the Day: Online Law Schools

This rant was sparked by the generated ads from Gmail for these abominations of law school. I need to ask, who actually is dumb enough to 'attend' one of these schools and how in the hell does the local bar allow these 'graduates' to sit for the bar exam? It is a disgrace to the profession and to the American educational system to believe you should be handing out doctorate level degrees over the internet.

Seriously, how could anyone attend a non-ABA accredited school and feel they weren't getting screwed out of thousands of dollars? The ABA accredits schools for a reason and with very few exceptions (Massachusetts School of Law is one) attending one of these schools will almost always assure you will fail the bar exam, and if you by some miracle of god pass the bar exam you are heavily restricted as to where you can work.

To make it better this school brags about these statistics. There testimonial letters are even funnier. Nice how these people omit their LSAT score in the 130's (below a 150 is bad, below a 140 is borderline ********) and rejection letters from every ABA school they applied to. In California where these 'schools' are much more prevolent, I can assure you if you spend one day in a Court House you can tell who went to law school and who went to clown college, I mean unaccredited law school.

Okay, rant over, just had to get that off my chest.

Hah you are the OS resident law student. Normal people don't know about the ABA.

Well the truth is the biggest scam going today is our college education system.

I know, I am just sick of ads for them. Do you know of any halfway decent law school message boards? I was on one but it went down hill fast as it was occupied by three sets of people. Set #1, the kids claiming to go to Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Georgetown, etc. Of course, they would spell cat with a k, but they were Harvard material, and god forbid you go to anything but a Top 14 school. Set #2, the wankers from Online Law Schools who felt the LSAT was biased and that despite their impressive 2.1 gpa from DeVry they were Top 14 material and did online because it was better and those of us in real law school were brainwashed dolts. Set #3 was people like us (you said you went to BU right?), but we were so few and far between it wasn't worth the time. That board seriously makes the worst Alabama-Auburn arguments here look like a debate between Rhodes Scholars.

There's a few I check out but they pretty much are made up of the people that you say. It's also pretty hard to find the good information on the law school message boards because so many of the posts are ridiculous.

It is a shame really, I did forget set #4 though. Those are the kids from T2-T3 schools, ranked near or at the very bottom of their class who assume everyone at a school a tier down from them is an idiot and will say as much. For a nice example check out this board. I really hope I never have the misfortune of seeing any of these asshats in practice
