    Interview with JohnnytheSkin

How long have you been reading Operations Sports and what brought you here?

I've been here for three years, after finding OS mentioned at GameFAQ's. Finding the rosters and now with Xbox Live being able to appreciate the community has made me stay.

What made you decide to donate to Operation Sports?

Since I frequent the site daily, download the rosters for my game, and have found a lot of good players on Live...I figured I might as well donate. I've also contributed rosters in the past, so the servers have to hold!

    Your favorite sports teams?

I'm a bit of a homer, since I lived in Colorado since I was eight and stayed through my education at Mines. I'm a huge Broncos fan, along with the Niners (the Joe Montana to John Taylor pass against the Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII made me love the NFL). I've watchd the Avalanche since they came to Denver, along with the Rockies. My other loyalties are to the Spurs, who I started following with David Robinson, who was a hero of mine growing up, and the Indians who I admittedly followed after their success in the '90's and the 'Major League' flicks. I also really enjoy European soccer and have family from Munich, hence the affection for Bayern and Germany.

    What are your hobbies?

Along with watching sports and gaming, I have a passion for home theater gear and calibration. I'm also a big reader.

Tell us about about your family?

My wife Sarah and I have been together for four years after meeting in the most romantic of places...Physics lab. We both have engineering degrees from the Colorado School of Mines (the school near the Coors brewery). We have a two and a half year old son, named John, the fourth generation of that name in my family. I'm a member of the small, yet growing minority of men who stay-at-home with their children, since after a year with the DOT in Kansas my wife found a very good job as a software engineer (and paying more than double my salary plus excellent benefits). Now, instead of slaving away as an engineer, I train the next Pele/Larry Bird/Joe Montana/Roger Clemens...you name it. It's the most satisfying job I've ever had.

That's awesome that you get to stay home and spend that much time with your son.

I'm a third generation John in my family as well.

Well if the circumstances were known about how I got "lucky" (including rural town hell and bankruptcy over a house) your opinion might change.

That being said, I appreciate the kind words...and yes, staying home gaming on my HDTV while my son's asleep can be quite enjoyable. My wife is pretty swell, though. I just wish she could get into gaming more (she only likes Hexic and Mario Party...no luck so far with Madden, NCAA, and GRAW).

He just doesn't want to have her hear me sing...we all know she'd fall head over heels in love with the Longhorn.
