    Trip To Boston, New York

Well, this Friday I'm heading out on the road trip I've been wanting to do for a while.

Me and my friend JD are flying out early on Friday morning to Boston, where I'll catch the three games at Fenway Park vs the Phillies, then take an Amtrak train from Boston to New York, where I'll catch all three games of the Yankees/Braves series.

Anyways, I was just wondering what places there are to eat in Boston and New York. I'm looking for something authentic to the area, something I wouldn't normally find here in Memphis. In Boston, I'll be about 3 miles from Fenway, and in New York, I'm basically a block or two from Central Park.

Also, anything to do to pass the time when we aren't at the games?

    Any info would be great.

Fire and ice is a sweet resurant in Boston, but...I think i've told you that before when we were talking about your trip in IMs.

3 miles from fenway could be anywhere. Where specifically are you staying? Are you 21?

If you want Boston, check out Quincy Market.

Game On is pretty nice place to go in Boston, right outside of Fenway Park.

I appreciate the suggestions too, as I might be taking a trip up to Fenway for the weekend.

The Blue Room in Boston is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. They know how to cook a steak to perfection. It's in Cambridge not far from the MIT campus.

As for New York, there are good restaurants everywhere. Patsy's is a nice Italian joint in midtown. It's very New York and great Italian food.

Ya gotta get some pizza from Ray's in New York too. Most pizza places in NYC are good though. You can't go wrong. Just make sure its the real thin New York style pizza. None of that thick Chicago crap

In NY go to La Mela if you want the best Italian food. I think its on Mulberry St.

If you want Chinese go to Wo Hop on Mott St.

I have been to NYC a couple of times, and I can't even walk out of these places when I am done due to being full as hell.

                Have fun, enjoy the games.

I'll be staying on Boston Street, southeast of the stadium.

Nope, I don't turn 21 for another 2 1/2 weeks. I've heard that's pretty much what everyone does after the games is head to the bars, and they're pretty strict on carding, so that's out of the question.

And thanks for the suggestions guys, keep em coming.

You could always hit the Boston Aquarium, it is definitely a site to see.

Interesting... I'm planning on the same trip. Luckily I'll have relatives up there to help me figure out what to do. It's going to be my girlfriend and me and we'll be going from CT to NYC to CT to Boston and perhaps Martha's Vineyard.

Interested in this too...I'm heading to Boston next week. I'm flying into Boston Sunday, going to Cromwell for 3 days for work and then back to Boston for 2 days. I'll be at the last game of the Mets & Red Sox series...I'm really looking forward to it.

Blue Room sounds good...any idea of what a steak costs there?

Boston st as in down near Dorchester Ave? You staying with a friend or something? Be careful walking around that area at night, not the best neighborhood if I'm thinking of the right place.

You might be able to get into Jillians after the game. They are usually 18+ I think. It's right on Lansdowne St, which is beyond the OF walls. I'll be at Sunday's game.

Martha's Vineyard is nice. My friends family has a place out there and we went out for a week last summer. Awesome beaches for this area.

If you're in Cambridge check out John Harvard's in Harvard square. They have good food and good beer. Cambridge Brewing Company is decent too. I believe that's in Kendall Square. Any idea how close you are to the red line? Much easier to get around on the train than it is to drive.
