Health Insurance???
I was curious as to how many of you have health insurance not supplied by your employer? I'm looking to get some health insurance so I can start going back to the chiropractor. I'm pretty dumb on the entire subject and don't really know what to look for or what companies are the best. So any info you guys can supply would be great!!Tags: None -
Re: Health Insurance???
Private Health Insurance can be a huge gamble. Obviously it is best to stick with reputable companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield, however that can be cost prohibitive. Your best bet is to call local agencies and speak with an agent.Last edited by MassNole; 07-17-2006, 01:52 PM. -
Re: Health Insurance???
I have one from my employer, and from Blue Cross and Blueshield. They are top of the line IMO as far as private ones go.President of the Devils Den

Re: Health Insurance???
I had it through my employer, but they didnt pay really anything towards it. After 3 years, i realized I was paying 500 a month for me and my wife! Well, now I got my own coverage from Blue cross for me, my wife, and son for 310 a month."Basketball may have been born in Massachusetts, but it grew up in Indiana." - James NaismithComment

Re: Health Insurance???
My health insurance is provided for me and my wife 100% from the district we both teach at. It covers medical and dental, but not vision. We each have $100 deductible and it covers her and my chiropractic visits.
I've been very happy with them.XBox Gamertag: djbeth77

Re: Health Insurance???
My wife and I just started one of those new high deductible insurance plans from my work. Our deductible is $2200 for the year then everything else is 80%/20%. We don't have to pay any monthly premiums and there are max out of pocket limits and stuff like that. Preventitive treatment is always 100% covered because they expect healthy people to enroll in this plan, they want to keep them healthy. Its totally new to me, so we will see how it works out. We also have a Health Savings account in conjuction that takes out $2200/year (our deductible) pre tax that we can use on medical costs. If you dont use the money it rolls over to the next year, unlike the traditional flexible spending accounts that make you forfiet your money if you dont use it.Comment
