Chiropractic
Does any one go to a Chiropractor! My back is in so much pain. Especially now that I almost 35. I am such a wimp when it come to going! I keep thinking they are going to break my neck! My dad goes and tell me to quit being a wussy. I know I need to go, but does it really make you feel better. Right now I have my wife walk on my back, she only weigh 116 so it is no problem, but she is getting bigger lol. So I think it is time I try! Thanks for any advice!Tags: None -

Avoid chiropractor's. Expensive as hell and they ruin your back even more. -
Re: Chiropractic
My Uncle's a chiropractor and I've had no problems. I always feel great once I leave, but the problem is, everything tightens up a week or so later. You have to go often and frankly, there just isn't enough time.
So while I do recommend it, just be aware that it's not like you can go and get 1 adjustment and everything will be fine. You gotta go a lot to reap the benefits.
FWIW - if you keep a wallet in your back pocket, switch sides occassionally. If you keep it in the same side all the time, it affects the way you walk and your back.Comment

Re: Chiropractic
I've gotten into a car accident and i had the worst whip lash and was in so much pain that i couldn't get out of bed some days. What Joeboo said was right that you have to go alot. I had about 20 sessions and i am pretty much pain free, again that was after a big rear end collision on the freeway, so i'm sure you'll be ok after a couple times.
If you have insurance see if how many times your issurance will cover you.Comment

Re: Chiropractic
I used to go to a chiropractor a lot a few years ago. It helped a good deal, but it was really time consuming like others have said. Well, the sessions are usually only 15 minutes, but they were about 2-3 times a week. I don't go anymore. I wouldn't really take my advice on what I do now, because it's probably not too good for you, but I crack my own neck and I feel fine. I also go to the gym as often as possible, because that helps to relieve tension.Comment

Re: Chiropractic
Incorretco! I've been going to a chiropractor twice a week since I was 19 (five years) because I have L4-L5 spondylosisthesis. It all depends on your problem.Originally posted by VinceAvoid chiropractor's. Expensive as hell and they ruin your back even more.
The key is finding the right chiro for you. Some are WAY too rough, some crack your whole damn body when you only need your neck or back cracked.
I went to two other jamokes before I finally found the guy I've stuck w. for the last five years. The first guy I went to, I'd leave the office in more pain than when I entered it.
The only downside is that it only provides temporary relief and you do have to go consistently (again, depending on the severity of your problem) but in my case I really don't have a choice. I'd have trouble walking if I didn't twice a week - but since I do I can do just about anything I want. I still lift and play basketball a ton.
A good point - or just don't carry it on your back pocket at all, especially when driving your car. I always toss my wallet into the middle console while I'm driving. Just don't forget it in there!Originally posted by joebooFWIW - if you keep a wallet in your back pocket, switch sides occassionally. Re: Chiropractic
Thank you, I guess all the sports I did as a kid is taking effect. Yeah I work out a lot, but my back is so bad that it is starting to effect me.Originally posted by NYG_MethI used to go to a chiropractor a lot a few years ago. He uses his hands/body when he adjusts me, but uses a massaging tool before that.Originally posted by ScottdDo you guys go to the ones that use that tool or do they use their hands?"You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Chiropractic
I can tell you that when i went it really helped. It took alot to get me back into place, im only 22 but it was pretty bad. The only problem was it was expensive as hell. $25 a session with wanting me to go 3 times a week. It does help though, I need to go back, but can't afford it.Comment
