Any Runners who run with orthodics?

Footlocker.com is having a 30% off through the 29th for Friends & Family appreciation. I'd love to get some running shoes.

Im looking into some asics. Looking on their website, they have different catergories. I over prognate and have orthodic inserts to correct this. Should I go for neutral shoes?

    Any help is appreciated.

I'm in the same boat. I hope your orthotics were custom made from a doctor and not the over the counter ones. Mine are custom and I wear them every shoe that I have-- running, basketball, football, dress shoes, etc. I'd wear them in my slippers if I could.

Asics are good because they have wider sizes. My physical therapist told me to stay away from Nike shoes. They are too narrow and just don't work for me.

They werent exactly custom made for my feet persay. but they took a ink print of my foot as I walked on a piece of paper, and could see where my problem areas were. Maybe a "gimmick", but my feet feel better than ever. I had alot of forefoot tension and stress, from my flat feet. I dont have a problem with width, so anything I wear seems to be fine.

With special running shoes, im afraid my orthodics would be rendered useless or If I could simply get neutral shoes and have my inserts neutralize my problem

Bro, if I was you I'd get custom fit orthodics for my feet. I got some my freshman year of high school and didn't change them until my freshman year of college, which my feet had grown considerably. It ended up screwing up my knees from wearing those old ones all the time and now I have a hard time doing any type of squating exercises or leg press type exercises. Form fitting is the way to go. I just went to the docs and they made a clay-type mold of them and a few days later I picked them up and they work perfect.

I had some for a few years. they foam fitted my feet to get the mold.

they eventually ripped apart and broke (the upper soft insole). The hard plastic arch support stayed around until I got these good feet orthodics. They costed me the price of a 360. havent let me down yet. lol they went out of business locally so I cant go in there and ask what they recommend. But wearing any type of insert should apply here when looking for running shoes

I just really want to capitilize on this deal and get some shoes. Ill look around online to see what they suggest

I had to have orthodics in my soccer cleats, but as a keeper I didnt run too much. Flat feet hurt like hell though sometimes.....

Nothing terribly bad with over the counter inserts. They're an ok solution for a short term, but in the long run if you're having problems with pronation of the knees (like me and others here) with flat feet then you might want to see your doctor. They can prescribe custom fit orthotics. My insurance paid for the better part of mine.

                    Worth every penny.

Good advice. On the real, I definitely have to go to a doctor and check this out. I had flat feet for so long. I put in cushions for my basketball shoes. I haven't realized how much it could pain me. Definitely need to handle that when I get a chance.

Re: Any Runners who run with orthodics?

I went with some trance 6 brooks shoes/ cost was quite a bit, but with them taking off atleast 40 in discounts alone, i might as well go all out.

This looks almost like a shoe I can wear without my orthodics. its a support shoe for moderate overprognation. Good stability and cushioning it looks like.

I always have my orthotics as backup in case they dont correct my overprognation

                              whats the code though?

i tried both the eastbay.com and footlocker.com coupon code. neither work at checkout

Finishline seems to use a number coupon system. i found this one online:
