Boxer shorts or the Boxer dog?

the former: about 3 or 4

          the latter: nope

A male dog also may be more aggressive so that draws people to buy females.

                  Re: Anyone own a Boxer?

I've had a dog all my life and females have always been the least aggressive and easiest to train in my experience. Boxers are also a real aggressive dog so thats up to you.

They also look like a flat face dog, so you have to brush teeth or clean their face flaps (i dunno what to call it) quite often or else it starts to stink because food gets stuck there.

Right now I have a female English Bulldog. Best dog ever. Easiest to train, always volunteers to go into her kennel when everyone leaves. (She also knows how to hold it in all day till someone comes home.) And I never met a dog that loves to take a bath like she does. She's an attention whore but is super loyal. I believe Boxers and Bulldogs come from the same family, so they could have some similarities, i'm not sure though. I hope that helps.

I had both and recently got rid of both of them. They are both playful SOBs but if I had to choose, I'd go with a female.

                    1. She wont hump any and everything around her
                    2. She's less playfull than a male but boxers are playfull dogs period.
                    3. Nothing says loving like a huge doggie penis whiping across your lap when a male takes a seat on you. Assuming you let your dogs get some lap time.

Anyway, really does'nt matter IMO. Just know that they will want to play...FOREVER!

Sorry you had to get rid of them, Graphik.

Well, what does he mean by "better"? Like which has the better temperament, which is more obedient, etc? If he's getting the boxer as a puppy, the majority of that depends on how the dog was bred, and how the dog is raised. You can just as easily have a calm, docile rottweiler as you can an aggresive, out-of-control golden retriever. It's all in what happens with the dog once it is brought home and the lineage it came from. Proper socialization also plays a huge role in temperament. The more people, dogs and experiences the dog is brought up around, the less likely it is to grow up to be hostile around unexpected circumstances. So, I would definitely suggest taking it to the dog park, doggy daycare, and having it around as many different things as possible as early as you can.
