I haven't eaten fast food (salads aside) for over three years. It was one of the best decisions I've made in life, and I have pretty much focused on living a healthy lifestyle for quite some time now. As a result, I find life to be much more enjoyable.

I'd still take Carney's ANY DAY. But hey, a chili cheese burger is my friend no matter where it's served.

I haven't had fast food other than Subway in a while until today. Big mistake. I was on the road and stopped at McDonalds and got a quarter pounder meal(Wish I got a chicken sandwich), and ever since eating it I've been feeling like crap. I feel tired and my stomach feels all weird.

I don't touch fast food, I eat Subway, but that's it and I don't consider it fast food. I don't drink soda pop either.

Re: Hello, my name is Brandon...

I quit fast food about 9 weeks ago. I was going once a day, pretty much everyday before then. Since then, I've been to the Bell once and Subway once. With just my normal routine, cutting that out has made such a drastic difference in my health. I'm about 5 pounds less then I was when I got married. And those who are married and/or have kids... should know that weight just seems to pile on.

PLUS... HUUUUUGE PLUS... you don't realize how much money you're spending eating fast food every day. I use to grab a yuppy food stamp from the ATM almost every day back then. Now, I throw a $10 in my wallet at the beginning of the week and still have some of it on Sunday.

Quitting fast food and smoking are the best things I've ever done to my body AND my bank account.

I eat fast food just about every other day. And there is nothing like going to your local nierborhood Musty Sandwhich Spot for a grease burger.

Yea, my heart is about to implode.

Well, it shouldnt be an excuse, but im a single parent, so I dont have anyone to cook for me. Fast food is so much easier, thing is..I notice my daughter wanting it more, which is not good. Any ideas on easy things to cook at home to help cut back on the fast food?

Yes, it does hurt the wallet. If I just ate it for lunch during the work week, thats around 30 bucks 120 a month thats $1440 bucks a year on fast food alone and thats only if I ate it during the work week for lunch. Not counting weekends or sometimes at night as well. Its getting crazy.

Cooking is easy. You can replicate almost anything from a fast food place...cheaper...and healthier.

Seriously, if you want, shoot me a PM with the types of stuff that you and the little Dookie-ette like to eat and I'll give you some ideas.

Teaching myself to cook when I was young (because my Mom worked 2 jobs when I was growing up) was one of the best things I ever did. And, as an added bonus, your daughter will have a blast cooking with you.

Re: Hello, my name is Brandon...

You guys gotta stop eating that junk reguarly. I got the worst end of it just a couple months ago. I'm 24 and with just a routine check up and bloodtest i've had high blood pressure, cholesterol through the roof, liver issues and diabetes. I rarely drink and do not smoke. There could be only one thing causing this and its fast food. Its no joke guys that stuff is like cigarettes and is killing America.

I quit as soon as I found out all my health problems, immediatley went into a diet to detox my system and start eating healthy and exercising. I have lost 40 pounds and not too long ago I came back for a check up and my blood pressure is great, my cholesterol is normal, i don't have liver issues and my blood sugar levels are now controlled and I don't take medication for it anymore.

I still have to watch my blood sugar because diabetes runs in my family but I am now comfortable.

If you have time to play a game you have time to make a healthy meal. Also saves you money

Anybody else remember why dookie loves Subway so much?

Anyway, I eat that stuff WAY too much. I'm not worried about the health aspect (I'm quite active) but it does cut in to my $$ like crazy. There's not much to do about it though simply because there is nothing else to do with friends around here that isn't mind-numbing or expensive.

Good thing I'm still young, so I still have that fast metabolism.

You know what's not expensive? The stuff on the Dollar Menu at McDonalds. Man those double cheeseburgers are good!

Yeah, I know. I probably have the obesity of a 300-pound food junkie, but the build of a high school strong-safety. Oh well.

I don't eat fast food much at all. But when I do, its either at 3 AM and the only option is Taco Bell or its Chick-Fil-A.

How do you all eat Subway? I can't stand that place. If I want a sub, I go to Jimmy Johns. And that's rare.
