Now, the doctor said it's not a big deal if it's not hurting me constantly, which it's not, for the most part. As some people know, I play tennis on the HS team and I've been playing for awhile, so I'm used to the pain while I play so it doesn't bother me much anymore.
Here's the dilemma, the surgery takes 6 weeks to recover fully, and for 6 months I can't play tennis after that. So I don't want to do it during the school year because there is no way I can miss 6 weeks of school and stay on track, my grades would suffer, and I couldn't play tennis this year for the team.
So my plan now is to have the surgery next summer, so I can have time to recover and what not. But, I also want to play tennis in college, I'm planning on going to community college and playing tennis there and then when I transfer maybe I can play tennis at the college I transfer to (not sure how hard it would be to play on a college team though), and with the surgery I lose almost all of the flexibility I have, which will pretty much kill any chance of me playing tennis at a competitive level (college, or just for recreation at a club).
So I'm not really sure on what to do, I can get it done next summer before I go to community college, or hold off on the surgery and keep playing through college. There is a slight chance I could still play tennis after the surgery, but there is no way I'd be able to play as good as I play now, so I'm not really sure what to do.
