how painful is a tooth removal?

this may not be the place but my damn filling came out of my back lower tooth. it was right at the edge of the tooth and just popped right off.
im afraid it was loose for some time and decayed my tooth totally.

if its serious, how long do you think recovery time is? root canal or whatever it is called.

im stressing out big time right now. i cant sleep because of the pain, cant breathe because the nerve inside the tooth is getting air, cant eat or drink. i think im gonna die soon

Getting a tooth extraction isn't really too bad. I had one done a few years back and I didn't even take the knock out gas. I'm weird about that stuff, I need to be awake to know what's going on. Just simple novacane.

It took a few days to stop bugging me. One of the things I found that worked was applying tea bags to the wound. For some reason they not only soothe the pain, but stop the bleeding afterward. But, you will need to spit a lot.

Really don't stress it. It's a simple procdure that they've done a million times, a little leftover pain and slight bleeding afterward. In a day or two it feels much better.

Hey Rube sorry to hear that you got pain.Take at least 3 advil every 4 hours this will help. Avoid hot and cold foods to that tooth .Go see the damn dentist because a toothache may be the worst kind of pain, preventing sleep and making you nervous. As far as getting the tooth out ,you will not feel a thing its what your ears hear that may bother you. When its done you will feel like a new man ready to go.Take care I have been there before....Tommy

I had a root canal when I was like 13-14. Hurt like hell.

Quick quesetion. After they remove the tooth, don't they have to bridge it or something? I read that if they pull a tooth and leave that space your teeth start moving over to fill that space.

Yes. They usually graft a bone from your hip to fill the space.

(Just kidding, Ruben. Good luck with the toothache!)

My root canal didn't hurt at all (thanks to multiple Tylenol). The only bad part was that it took forever.

If you are having pain, try putting an aspirin on the tooth and let it dissolve. It will taste kinda funky, but it will stop the pain for a while.

You may have to use two.

update... it was just the exterior chunk of silver filling that fell out... thank god.

im not sure why it was so painful because their was still silver filling inside the tooth.

Lower body, eh? That only happened once when I jerked it one too many times.
