    Tropical Storm Ernesto

I saw a few posts on Ernesto in the Appocalypse thread, but I figure that was a totally different topic, so it deserved it's own thread...

Anyways, word is that Ernesto will likely become a Hurricane sometime during the day on Sunday. It's currently at 60MPH and getting stronger.

Hopefully all the OSers in Florida, as well as the Gulf Coast will be safe, and evacuate if it's deemed necessary.

Here's a storm tracker, and projected path..

One benefit of living in the Ohio Valley is not having to worry about these. Hopefully it won't cause much damage. Everybody stay safe.

Hurricanes and Typhoons are two things that scare me. I have relatives that live in the Philippines and that place has its share of typhoons, sometimes they go a month without power there.

I'm pretty sure the people down in the hurricane areas go through the same and just like I say for my relatives, I hope nothing tragic happens.

The only thing we here in Memphis would be affected by is a few consecutive days of heavy rain. Thing is, we desperately need it so I'm kind of hoping that it comes our way.

Well looks like it's a Hurricane now, with winds up to 75mph.

Well looks like Florida is going to be the target unless something strange happens in the atmosphere. Good luck to all of those folks down there, and I hope we get some rain out of it. Like Memphis my area needs it bad too.

All of Florida is going to get hit and it looks like it's going to go right up the coast. Hopefully it keeps turning right and goes out to sea.

And hopefully it doesn't grow too much bigger.

Tell me about it. My grass, and everyone else's around here as well, is brown. I'm sure we'll get something spawned our way.

School closings throughout Central Florida means no work tomorrow...WOOT!

In all seriousness, the storm doesn't look to bad as we should get alot of rain and some gusty winds. Hopefully everyone makes it through safely.

I work for a company that owns 8 Applebees restaurants down in the Miami area and they all closed today at about 2:30 or 3:00. I don't know when they'll re-open.

Nothing much to report in Raleigh, although the power went out sometime around 4 in the morning for about an hour or two. I was half asleep so I wasn't really paying attention... From all accounts the storm was worse on the other side of I-95.

Things seem to be okay in Wilmington. I just talked to a buddy of mine who still lives there. Just a bunch of rain and wind...no serious damage that he's seen so far.
