    What do you do...

When the person who cut your hair clearly just butchered it?

I got a buzz a few months ago, and today I was ready to go in and get it all trimmed up. My regular barber wasn't there, but I figured "how can anyone **** up a buzz?"

Well apparently it's possible. The ditz who cut my hair basically shaved the sides like a buzz, but left the top long...WTF?

I look ridiculous. At this point I've decided to go with the feau-hawk(fake mohawk)

So my question is, what do I do to fix my hair? and how do you deal with this situation, when youre in the barber shop, your hair looks dumb, but you dont want to embarass the person who cut it?

You've got to say something at the barber shop. If you don't like the way your hair looks because the person who cut it completely screwed up then you sit there until it's done correctly. I don't think it would be embarassing to say to the barber, "can you cut it shorter on top" when they ask you how it looks.

Didnt they let you look in the mirror and ask how it looked? Just say you want a bit more taken off the top. Most barbers will intentionally leave it a bit longer when they ask you how it looks since they can always cut more. I would go to another barbershop and ask to get it trimmed up now if you look that bad. Actually, post a picture before you go.

I wouldn't feel bad for the person that cut my hair. It's business, you paid for a service and they didn't deliver. I would go back atleast and talk to the regular barber try to get a free hair cut next time and a fix for the current one.

It's really amazing (and they exist everywhere) that some barbers simply can't cut hair to save their lives. It's just funny to me that this is their choice of occupation yet they completely suck at it.

Chances are man, if you go back and talk to your usual barber, and simply tell him, that this new barber did a bad job (he will tell by looking at the hair), he will agree, give you a free cut to fix it up, apologize, and most likely you won't be seeing that new barber in the next 2 weeks or so.

shave it off, and I wouldn't have paid the barber.

usually when that happens (it's only happened a couple times for me) I usually cut back on the tip and the next time I go I request my regular hair cutter.

Same. I would of made them fix it and still not pay.

I have been lucky though. I never have had my hair cut messed up.

I would've made him fix it right then and there. They don't mind. They don't want someone walking the street saying, "that guy gave me this haircut".

Well if your just getting a buzz-cut everytime just buy a hair cut razor and either do it yourself or have girlfriend/mom do it...

Exactly. Which is why I've sworn off barbers forever and go to a professional stylist. Those people actually have the training and continuing education(my stylist goes to training about 6 times a year in New York and San Fran in addition to the reps they send to the place itself once a month to learn new techniques and styles).

Barbers, on the other hand, usually went to barber college about 20 years ago(if not learned in their own basement), and learned about 3 haircuts which they can only do slight variations of. I think its a joke.

You take your hair with you everywhere, at all times. I can't afford for some clown to f it up because they don't know what they're doing.

I wouldn't trust a barber with anything except extremely close-cropped haircuts and/or highly specific hair types. They just don't have the skillset. It's like they live in a time bubble, as if hairstyles stopped in the late 50's.

Oh, and any of you who might think that going to a stylist is something a girl does, or a waste of money, a Men's Health Survey conducted in 2005 said "42% of women say the 1st thing they notice about a man is his hair".

That's the audience I'm trying to impress, so I find it worth it.

Get another buzz cut, you might as well get used to not having much hair, because the older you get the odds will be your hair wont be with you! lol

Dang, I guess you're not scared to get locked up huh??

Forget all that. Get your own clippers, an extra mirror, some hairspray, and alcohol and get to work. Definitely would love to see a picture to see........
