OS'ers: What You Think About This Comment About Os'ers ?

DC All American: but funny how their are almost 200 people in 2k forums
DC All American: and like 30 in live
DC All American: but ea fans arent itnernet people typically so that is kinda why
    KingKongAlBundy: thus proving my point
KingKongAlBundy: people on OS see things through one lens
    DC All American: which is?
KingKongAlBundy: I will find ONE sentence that proves my point:
KingKongAlBundy: NBA 2K7 is here and I don’t think I’ve seen the sports gaming community anticipate a game this much since NFL 2K5. I don't recall seeing a line outside of Gamestop waiting for that game
    DC All American: hahaaha
DC All American: yea i know
KingKongAlBundy: that one sentence should answer ur question. Too much Operation Sports
DC All American: \and what lense do non internet people "real people" use?
KingKongAlBundy: two wrongs dont make a right
DC All American: no im just askin
    DC All American: and wondering
    DC All American: legit quesiton
KingKongAlBundy: I mean, just they came up on live and madden and if it aint broke dont fix it
KingKongAlBundy: and they dont know it's broken cause they dont have anything to compare it to
    DC All American: true
so at the end of the day who goes to hell
KingKongAlBundy: no one, two groups of people that believe in two different Gods
    DC All American: good point
So do we as OS only own one pair of glasses?
    What you think?
    Concrete evidence/videos please

I think that I don't really understand the conversation.

Yes. We do own one pair of glasses. Most people here are looking for realism (or something close to it) in their sports video games. It just so happens that in the basketball games, 2K does a better job of creating that representation of realism.

Most casual gamers don't care about realism. They just want to have fun. That is why EA Sports continues to sell. They give you a real solid game that is incredibly fun to play with your friends.

So whoever you were talking to was right. There are two types of gamers. Its just that 1 type of gamer is in the majority here, but the minority everywhere else.

I think that answers the question. Does it?

Eh, I think you can take a little bit of both sides. I enjoy some games that get blasted on the internet but I don't care. I like to read others opinions on games and the gaming industry but it doesn't mean I slavishly become devoted to the predominant views of the 'net.

Too much of internet thinking is not a good thing but only going for cheap entertainment while sleeping on truly great games is also a bad thing.

You got to take a little of both IMO.

Yeah I agree, I think we like the sports game to be more realistic. But we are the minority so that is why they are made the way they are.

Re: OS'ers: What You Think About This Comment About Os'ers ?

I don't think anything when I read that. Why?

When OS raves about an EA sports game we see the "OS is Pro EA. They are nothing but EA fanboys"
Then 2K makes a game that OS says is better than an offering from EA and we get "OS is so anti EA.. They are nothing but 2K fanboys."

So bottom line, the only people that have issues with OS ARE the actual fanboys of either EA or 2K.

I think some of OS just follows what others think because they believe them.

But I have always been a suporter of Madden over the 2k football games, in the past htat is. And OS has the tendency to be more 2K.

One thing he forgot to mention. The most anticipated games he said at OS were NFL 2K5 and NBA 2K7. Yet he somehow forgets about how NCAA football every year and ESPECIALLY MVP baseball were anticipated around here.

This board was MVP crazy, we went crazy with every video. Some people just want to see the world through their own 'lenses'.

NCAA release week is one of the biggest times here at OS.

Ha I remember that! I think it was MVP 2005? when they showed a video and the guy playing was having a hard time trying to change pitchers from the in-game menu... he had to go change it from the start menu... People thought that meant you couldn't change pitchers in game... People nearly blew a gasket! The MVP fanbase was definately rabid.

Yep...that was in anticipation of MVP 2005's release. I honestly don't think anyone who runs this site is pro-any company. They're all just pro-good games.

                            I don't wear glasses.

Every forum has their members who just want to stick with what they've got (usually EA) and then there are guys who have gotten bored with that and wanted something different (usually 2k). And of course there are people who just get whatever (me, hah).

As far as the site's reviewers and whatnot, I think they are one of the best out there in giving fair scores to every game. There's been high scores for EA and 2k Sports game ... and low scores for EA and 2k Sports games. So anyone who thinks it's all leaning in one direction is just bitter over something.
