    Anyone know something about physics?

Not sure how much help I can get here but might as well try.

Im looking for T. The masses of the blocks are in kg, pullies frictionless and massless.

Ive drawn the FBD, but am not really sure what to do next.

I can honestly say I have no clue about ANYTHING in that picture.

Re: Anyone know something about physics?

The first step to solving the problem is to take the INDIVIDUAL free body diagrams for each pulley. Since the system is static, the sum of the forces have to be zero.

You can then start cancelling the opposing forces, and then work backwards algebraically using F=ma, where a in this case is equal to g, which is 9.81 m/s^2 (or expanded fraction).

                    Enjoy!

Ah. I was doing it for the individual blocks, but looking at each pulley makes sense. Where were you an hour ago when this was due?

                        Splinter Cell, man...

Stop procrastinating! Seriously though, we had those problems in Physics-100, had to submit the answers online (VERY precise system) and they would take far too long!

I trust you also know that you have to take the FBD of the full system as well as the individual parts. The full FBD will allow the cancellations of the opposite forces (obvious I know, but for completion sake).

Damn, I know I did a problem with a pulley in it in Physics yesterday, but I know it wasn't that hard.
