I know political banter is banned at OS, but this is more of a public service announcement.

Some of us lean left, some lean right, some hover in the middle. Some love big government, some are borderline anarchists, some like the current system.

But regardless of our beliefs, it doesn't mean sh*t if we don't get out today and pull the lever, push the touch screen, punch the chad or mark the box. If you have and/or voice political opinions but don't back them with a vote, you're just a useless windbag. A spineless f*cking fraud.

Get out and vote today!

I voted for the first time. I was there really early since I was going to a class at 7:45 so I avoided a long line.

I voted on my way to work today. Electronic ballot with the red lights, pretty small crowd. I voted at a high school though, so I imagine a lot of people were waiting until the morning rush was over before heading to the polls. Did anyone have their ID checked? All they asked for was my name.

I echo PK's sentiments. Regardless of party affiliation or which way your beliefs lean, get out there and VOTE! We live in a great country and voting is a privilege, so get out there and exercise it.

Even tho i'm not American I will echo PK's sentiments. Go out there and vote! A democracy is not worth having when one is apathetic. I know it can be hard with a lot of the "slick" and sometimes corrupt politicians out there but that's the beauty of the vote. You have the power to make change.

If one doesn't vote then one shouldn't complain about the system or the people in government. Every vote counts and it's truly a liberating feeling to have voted knowing that you have made a difference in some small capacity.

Personally I love the American system rather then the Parliamentary system in Canada as the vote here in Canada doesn't have as huge of an impact. Having said that tho I still go out for most elections and cast my ballot because I know that in some small way I've contributed to the future of my country.

I voted for the second time. I doubt my man will win, but every vote counts.

To answer Sherik's question, I had my ID checked and was asked what my address was. Last year my ID was only checked. I used the paper ballot becuase there wasn't a line for that. I'm surprised they don't ask for your voter's registration card.

Didn't get my ID checked, and it only took me 15 mins to vote *unlike 04 when I waited 3 hrs to vote early!!!*. Glad I didn't go at 7:30 am when my mom went to vote. I guess the rain made people wait later in the day to go.
