I got my ID checked.

As someone who is truly independent when it comes to politics, it's amusing working in a state office today. It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that the Democratic candidate is going to win in the Governors race after having a Republican in the office since 1991. Since all the higher ups here are appointed by the Governor, everybody's running around like a chicken with their head cut off.

I hate that my vote never matters though. Without getting too political, Pittsburgh and PA are very much on one side of the spectrum and I'm on the other. I always vote, but I know it won't even be close. At least the district I'm in will vote my way!

Got home from voting. Touch screen method. No problems that I saw and everything went smooth.

Oh yeah, 12 voicemails when I got home from different people asking to vote for the candidate they endorse. WTH? I've had the typical 3-4 per day for the last 2 weeks, but 12??

Actually earlier in the day I heard of a governor or senate candidate had problems with touch screen voting and the E-voting machine couldn't take in her ballot.

I think you should still do it. Honestly, I've felt the same way as you for the last 6 years. But you put a little time into studying the candidates, you might find one that shares the same views as you do on some things. Maybe not all, but moreso than the other turd running against him/her. I did all of that over the weekend.

mjb, I was getting about 3-4 calls a day as well. I actually received 2 of them after 9:00 PM last night. I was amazed they were calling that late. Leave me alone! They weren't endorsing their candidate as much as they were bashing the opponent. Nice. Makes me sick I voted for the guy who they were campaigning for but I didn't like some of the things his opponent has/hasn't done, which I researched well before I was bombarded with phone calls for the last 45 days or so.

Like I posted in the other thread....I registered online, they sent me a paper with all my info filled out and all I had to do was sign. I signed it and put it on the table so one of my parents could mail it out, but I didn't get any of the voter info packets and my Mom thinks she ended up throwing it away.

So pissed because this is such a huge election, and I'm not going to be participating. Oh, yeah, this would have been my first election too. Too damn bad.

People have no right to complain if they don't get out there and vote, so go out there and make your voice heard! (even if your opinion is stupid )

Lazy excuse. Guess you've never heard of a write-in ballot.

And quick note: There are more than two parties on ballots across the country. My ballot had at least 10 rows for various parties. I voted for three Libertarians as well as Democrats and Republicans.

Did not vote and will not vote. The reason being politicians are supposed to look out for the people but all they look out for is their own well being and how to line their pockets.
