There isn't a huge difference between private and public schools.

It is kind of sad that this wasn't even mentioned in my US History class.

went through school today and not one mention of it from teachers or during the anouncements. kind of sad

Truly sad, and truly dangerous not to discuss this. Peace has never been absent conflict. It needs to be discussed thoroughly.

We are losing around 1,000 WW2 vets a day. Truly our greatest generation.

I believe we will be experiencing another great conflict here soon.

              Heroes.

Not the way that word is thrown around today, but in its truest definition. That is the one word that comes to mind.

Today's military members hold the Marines, soldiers, sailors, and airmen of that generation in the highest regard.

Does anyone else see World War 3 in the near future? I mean with the Middle East and Korea and everything.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

This never got any press, but it's the last two paragraphs of Amadinejads speech to the UN.

                      "Dear Friends and Colleagues,
"From the beginning of time, humanity has longed for the day when justice, peace, equality and compassion envelop the world. All of us can contribute to the establishment of such a world. When that day comes, the ultimate promise of all Divine religions will be fulfilled with the emergence of a perfect human being who is heir to all prophets and pious men. He will lead the world to justice and absolute peace.

"O mighty Lord, I pray to you to hasten the emergence of your last repository, the promised one, that perfect and pure human being, the one that will fill this world with justice and peace.

I'll take the guy at his word. He recently also said that there will be a "celebration" around March of next year when they finish their nucleur program. He also believes this......

"The Shiite Muslim President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, is deeply committed to the Islamic Messiah, al Mahdi. There have been many through the years claiming to be the Hidden Imam but Ahmadinejad believes he is yet to come. He claims that he is to personally prepare the world for the coming Mahdi. In order to save the world, it must be in a state of chaos and subjugation. Ahmadinejad claims he was “directed by Allah to pave the way for the glorious appearance of the Mahdi”. This apocalyptic directive includes some very scary proclamations."

                          I'm late.

But the biggest of props to anyone involved in the military in any form. My grandfather, who I sadly never met, was a paratrooper at Normandy on D-Day.

December 7, 1941 is really one of the biggest "turning points" in the history of the world.

Amazing, a thread about Pearl Harbor Day, and somehow people manage to spin it into political talk.

Since the day is now over, even though we should honor Pearl Harbor every day, I'm going to lock this.
