Creating my own computer...

...well, I'm not, this guy I go to school is.

I just know guys on this board are real gamers, duh, and most also play some PC games here and there.

I dont want anything amazing, but a pretty good gaming PC would be nice. I have a laptop I use and paid quite a bit for, but I hate downloading large files on it, and alot of games I have the requirements for and I buy them, then I bring it home and its choppy.

I dont know much about PCs so what size would you get of HD, what kind of motherboard, etc. It doesnt have to be the greatest, but decent. I just dont want to spend another 2 grand on this

For mother boards I ususally use Abit or Asus. As far as hard drive I would get the biggest size you can get/afford.
I would also get a tower (not mid tower) as it gives you lots of room and air circulation.
