Just bought "Samsung LCD 26 in HDTV" help..

here is what the situation was..

i have a 26 in HDTV (1080i) tube.. Panasonic.. prob about a year and half old model. i started noticing some colors not looking good etc.. i couldnt make it any better!! heck i bought it for like 200 bucks.. not a bad deal b/c i bought it right after the 360 launched!!

now..

i bought a psp with a bunch of acc etc.. i played it and was ok with it for a few days!! but dang pixels went out on me and i got heated.. so instead of getting another one of those i put all the money i got back into that samsung 26 in lcd shown above!! i only have room on my ent center for 26 in TV and room i game in is small anyway.. actually prob will look like 30 in to me in this room..

i have seen this TV as high as $1299 and low as $899 on major sites etc.. Sears.com had it today for 749.99 if you put it on sears card.. for me since my card is new b/c of the psp i get 6 months no payment, then a year and a half no interest.. until 09 or something!! so credited with my psp money i ended up getting this TV for $479.99!!

so i actually feel good for now, but help me feel better about this lol.. instead of 1080i crappy tube hd, i now have a 480i,480p,720p,1080i hd built in TV.. wooooooooooooooooo lol

from all the homework i have done looking at these i think i got a very nice TV..

High Five, it's a good TV. We have the 23" version that came out last Fall.

ok after some decent hours on this TV with gaming etc.. question.. would i be better off using my VGA 360 cable or the component cables? been playin in 1080i also.. just wondering if i used the VGA if it would look better..

i dont know if its just me getting used to the TV but i swear sometimes it gets a lil blurring when playing hockey.. but then again when i look at it i think it did the same with hockey on my other TV.. ugh.. i hope i dont have a defect!! at least i'm covered for 90 days through sears and also have the 2 year warranty!!

lol well it turned out i did have a defect..

took it back got the same one etc.. my TV isnt suppose to have PIP.. well the new one did lol.. is this a mistake on samsungs part? it was grayed out along with a few other options on my defect.. but i'm not suppose to get these features with the model i have.. wonder what gives lol.. i guess its cool, i'm not complaining lol

If your planning on watching movies with the 360 I'd use the VGA cable which allows the 360 to upscale DVD's.

I have a Samsung LCD also and I'm always tweaking the settings trying to find the perfect combo for games. I think I drive myself batty doing this endlessly.

Whats your tv's native resolution? From my experience so far running games in 480p looks crappy because my tv's native res is to high or at least thats the reason I was told. Running backwards compatible xbox games on the 360 looks great because it converts the signal to 720p. But games on the old xbox look like crap.

i actually took the new model i got yesterday back today b.c i was very unhappy with it.. i ended up getting the sony bravia kdl26s2010 in its place!! from what i have played around with it is better for the 360 IMO.. looks alot better etc.. ghosting is basically non existent compared to the sammy!!

i'll keep yins posted...

update lol.. i ended up being able to get the sony kdl32s2010 for the price of the 26 inch i had originlly bought. lol all in all i got a $1399.99 TV for around $550.00

go me...
