All the big gifts come Christmas morning, but so far I've got some money and assorted gift cards, Super System and Super System 2, and some sweet boxers from my grandparents that look like a big $100 bill.

BK i'm jealous of the irons. I think I'll finally have to break down and get some new irons at some point this year.

I went to Golfsmith and went through their whole Hot Stix fitting thing. Where it checks your swing, and then recommends different club sets. Then you hit those clubs it recommends, and see which you hit the best.

It felt like I was hitting the Nike's the best, and the computer numbers showed it. I did like the Taylor Made R7's also. But the Nike's I hit just a little better, with a better launch angle and more backspin.

Then I got them fitted and custom ordered. Awesome way to get the clubs you want imo.

You buy the irons individually, or they come as a set?

Also, how much more is it to get them customized to the extent you did?

I've not been exposed to the game of golf yet, Chip n Putt and mini golf aside, but I really enjoy watching and following the various tours whenever they are televised. I recorded the second round of the Wendy's Challenge earlier today and will be watching it later this evening.

I'll likely start golfing on full courses at some point in the future, and thus would be curious about how much one can expect to set on various club sets (if they are sold as sets instead of individually), and how much beyond retail one can expect to pay for customization.

Of note: I've been playing Tiger Woods 07, and I noticed that they have real clubs in the game, which is pretty cool, and also a neat way to see what the various brands look like, etc.

If you custom order them, you are basically ordering them individually. Didn't cost me any more than the full set. Other than the 35 bucks for the Hot Stix session.

I got $50 and a Nike sweatshirt from my grandma today, and I get everything else tomorrow.

I'm guessing more money and clothes.

Once you get a bag, and all the goodies somewhere in that neighborhood.

My set with my 18 degree and 21 degree hybrids in place of my 3 and 4 iron ran about $860. Figure $100-150 for a bag. Not sure what Drivers are going for these days retail. I still have my Callaway Driver and woods from when I worked for Callaway.

So far, Tony Hawk Project 8, Superman Returns, and FEAR for the 360; Zelda, Red Steel, and Elebits for the Wii. Also got 4000 Wii points. That was from my Mom and her side of the family. My inlaws and wife are tomorrow.
