    Computer virus and Spyware problem

Need some help with my computer. Christmas night, I was on myspace when I received a pop-up message saying I had a trojan win32 virus. Right now, its a little icon on the bottom of my toolbar screen. It shows 2 question marks and a little picture of a harddrive.

When I click on it, it says I need to download spyware to get rid of the virus. I click on it, and it takes me to some Antivermins website. It says I can scan my harddrive for free, and then purchase their product to kill the virus.

Now, I don't think I really have a virus because my computer so far has not been affected. I can still access the web and perform other functions. I had a similiar problem in August. I purchased Spy Sweeper for 40 bucks, and it got rid of my virus. I still have it, and I don't understand why it didn't catch this virus. I also have anti-malware, norton anti-virus, etc... None of them have gotten rid of this virus.

Anyone know what I should do? I don't want to waste another 50 bucks on spyware when I already have it. I think the spyware company antivermin infected me on purpose so I would buy their product. Is there any free spyware i can download to solve this problem?

Try an online scan, and see what comes up.

Detect and fix viruses, worms, spyware, and other malicious threats for free.

That's funny, a spyware program on your computer is telling you that you have spyware. lol

i come across "banner ads" that say things like that, which really isnt true- just a gimmick to get you to click on it (& henceforth maybe add spyware)..

i use a few spyware cleaners (free) as you should always use more than one..

the best are Ad-aware & Spybot.. in addition, i use Windows Defender & a program called SUPERAntiSpyware (all free)

check out Cnet.com, where they have reviews of all spware programs

I don't want to hijack this thread, but i just have a quick question. Can someone direct me to the way in which one can set their computer so that it would run as it did on a certain date? What I mean to say is that there is a program on the computer that allows you to keep your configurations from a certain date but i can't seem to find it.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

I'm guessing you are thinking of system restore. Assuming that is the case, check this out.
