    The Sleep Thread

Sleep is possibly the greatest thing on Earth. It requires zero effort. It refreshes you. It's also a good way to kill time on those slow sports Sunday afternoons.

So what is everyone's current sleep patterns? My psych professor told me sleep patterns change often and mine certainly have with Christmas Break beginning in the middle of December and ending this week. I've gone from 8 hours a night all Fall and then less than 6 during Finals week and then 12-14 during the 4 weeks of Christmas Break. And now that class is back in session, I'm back down to 6-8 hours a night. Hell I gotta be up before 8 AM today for class and its almost 2...contemplating not even going to sleep since I'll sleep a ton Saturday anyway with Alabama not playing again until Wednesday.

    Re: The Sleep Thread

My sleep pattern got totally ****ed up over Winter Break, I'd stay up until like 2-3 am, and wake up at 12-1 pm. So now when I have to get up at 7 am for school, it's horrible because I don't wake up easily right now, hopefully by next week I'm back into my usual sleep schedule.

      LOL my current sleep patterns...

Mondays and Wednesdays: Go to bed at 4-5 AM so I'm up in time for class at 2:10 PM.

Tuesdays and Thursdays: Go to bed at 7-8 AM so I'm up in time for class at 6:00 PM.

Recently I haven't even been tired sometimes, so I just don't go to sleep...

I may be out of my mind. Not sure.

I am most definitely out of my mind. Not sure.

Lol shhyeah. I'm loving the classes being over before noon on MWF. So much free time to do whatever. Even ran a mile and biked a mile at the Rec Center on Wednesday and plan on doing in every MWF

Same here. I have all my classes Tuesday and Thursday with a Wednesday night class. Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will not help my sleep schedule since I won't have to get up early on those days

                  Summer working for my dad:
Sunday-Thursday = Asleep 11 PM - 1 AM to be at work by 7 AM (usually got up at 5:30 AM)

                  During this past fall:
                  Sunday/Tuesday = Asleep at 1-4 AM for a 10:45 AM class
                  Monday/Wednesday = Asleep at 2-5 AM for a 12:30 PM class
Thursday = Sleep after parties or once I pass out, no class til 1:10 PM
                  Friday/Saturday = Usually don't fall asleep until 4-5 AM

                  Christmas Break:
Everyday = Fall asleep around 4-5 AM

I'm gonna have to change it up a bit to get some sleep this upcoming semester because I have some classes earlier in the morning.

I stay up until about 4am and wake up at about 12pm so I can play some video games before I go to work at 4. I dropped out of DePaul for a quarter to make some money for school, so I have it pretty easy right now.

Well, I dropped my Winter class, so I'm off. Usually, I sleep between 3am and 5am, and wake up (except Fridays, I have to wake up at 11 on Fridays) around 2-3pm.

                      I love it.

Same, but instead I wake up around 10:00, and find a 2 - 3 hour nap during the day.

Well let's see I was really sick over the christmas/new years time so I was literally sleeping 12-14 hrs a day! I've only just recently gotten out of that and I usually wake up anywhere between 10 AM and noon and take a nap between 6ish/7ish to about 9 PM.

This past evening tho I couldn't get to take my nap and I fell asleep at 8:30 only to wake up at 3:11 AM. Hopefully that isn't the start of anything. Most of my HS days I did the "nap at 6/7 to 9 PM" thing a lot so i'm most comfortable with that.

                            during school:
10pm sleep...5am awake... gym then a few classes at school until 2-3pm

                            during this winter break-
7am sleep..... 3-4pm awake... sometimes it was a 12pm wakeup or 2pm due to me having to do somethings.

id love to get back on schedule but its so damn hard.

i just fell asleep around 9pm tonight and was up again around 11:30 and now im not even close to being tired... Looks like another sunrise ill get to watch

whats the best way to get back on schedule??? pull an all nighter until the time you wanna really go to bed for good?

Well, thats an effective way of doing it, just make sure that you don't try to do that around the same time as anything important. I had one bad week of sleep and I ended up over-sleeping a 3:45 PM class because I tried the all-nighter method 2 nights before and I kinda failed. And the same situation happened during finals and I almost over-slept one of them (at 7 AM...didn't help that I set my alarm clock for 6 PM either).
