I'd like to know what the hell is up with my dentist. He wanted to take my wisdom teeth out at least 4 years ago, and each time i go in for a check up, they have come in more and more. Now, they're basically all the way in and it only affected my other teeth a tiny bit. I'm still curious if he wants to take them out still.
2 and a half days enough for wisdom tooth removal??

Re: 2 and a half days enough for wisdom tooth removal??
dentists have deals set up with the oral surgeons. the more people they get the more money they make. it's all about the cash. unless there is a problem, why would you bother? I had one taken out because I it was pressing on the tooth in front of it, but the others are fine right now. I was fine within a couple hours.
Also, be very cautious if you smoke. They told me not to smoke for, at least, 24 hours or it could cause dry socket. I smoked on the way home and didn't have any problems.Last edited by jpup; 01-25-2007, 03:33 AM.NFL: Tennessee Titans

Re: 2 and a half days enough for wisdom tooth removal??
thanks guys.
I decided to wait. I glad I did. attendance in those classes im taking are a big part of my grade. itll have to be done during springbreak.
Btw, I have never had any pain with my wisdom teeth thus far. but the way they are positioned (botton pair is directed INWARD) so they will never reach the outer air and just push my teeth in. He said they would grow nonstop until I die basically. And the one tooth thats exposed but crooked may start growing into my cheek... Im pretty sure thats all 6-7 years down the line if not further, but I dont think I should risk it. anyone know the real facts about teeth growth? do they really grow nonstop until they reach another tooth? I dont know what to believe, but im taking his word for it.. if my lower wisdom tooth is already hitting a bone, wouldnt it just stop growing by his logic?
thanks for the insights. i chose to go 100% under. 7 days to rest with no homework is better than 3 days with stressful conditions aroundLast edited by RubenDouglas; 01-25-2007, 08:04 PM.Comment

Re: 2 and a half days enough for wisdom tooth removal??
today was the day btw. the I-V process and putting me under was easy...
now the tough part begins.
i have yet to eat any food today in fear that the holes that are still blood clotting will get full of food. seeing as how I cant swish with salt and water until tomorrow i may just wait.
anyone remember their first or second day after?Comment
