I have long held the view that Valentine's Day is the biggest scam going... In high school, we had this thing called "Flower Day", around Valentine's tme, where you could order flowers for someone... Red was "love", pink meant "secret admirer", and white was basically "let's just be friends". I got sucked into this scam in my freshman year, when I had like 4 chicks who I thought I had a good chance with... I got them flowers, and not only did I not get any flowers in return, but I saw them walking around school with all these flowers from other dudes as well... My allowance wasn't that large, and I was pissed that I had frittered away valuable cheddar on such a fruitless endeavor... Next three years? I ain't give squat, especially when I had these tramps come up to me ASKING how many flowers I was gonna give 'em. I told one, "You want a flower, I want the cherry..." Even when I had my steady chick in senior year, I was so good to her that she didn't even bother me with the Valentine's stuff anyway.

Setting aside one day to show your love or affection? Nah, I'll pass... Fortunately, my wife holds the same viewpoint, so it's not like every February 14th, I gotta dodge bullets. Last night was just a regular night at home for us... Both of the kids are sick, so they fell asleep early since they were both under the influence (Benadryl is a helluva drug...), so we just watched different shows we had recorded on the DVR...
