That's ridiculous.

It's supposed to get down to 12 degrees here tonight.

It's been pretty cold lately.

They've actually closed the majority of schools in Pittsburgh the last 2 days. They don't want the kids standing outside waiting for the bus for 10-20 minutes in this weather.

It's -4 right now. With windchill it's -20.

It was a very mild winter in NY until this month. We've had a few snow showers but no snow accumulation. This week its been single digits. Should be back to low 30's on Friday.

Interesting convo I had yesterday about why most suburban schools are closed and the public schools are open here in chicagoland. They both have the same weather with inland being pretty worse since its directly on the lake. I was told that for a nice percentage of kids in the city who go to public schools, sometimes its more warmer at school than it would be in their homes. Also, that some of these kids dont eat much at home so school helps them out with that. Very interesting indeed. Pretty sad if you ask me but it makes sense.

As someone who works in a Chicago public school I can most definitely attest to this. I was surprised that I had to work today but am not surprised at all after thinking about that.

I live 2 miles away from work and it took me 45 minutes to get home. My office closed around 2:00. I stayed a little longer than that. It's snowing pretty good outside right now. I think us folks in Northern KY are supposed to get 4-6 inches by the time this thing is done. Cincinnati is supposed to get a little less, but who the hell knows anymore.

We had a scorcher in wisconsin... its currently at 3 degrees.

Almost a good 40 above what it was yesterday with windchill.

I think where I live we hit around -37, with some places going to -43ish.

Our pub schools got closed one day this week (the first day) because the busses weren't in good running condition (gelling oil, etc.)

It's been single digits in the morning but by lunch time it's in the low 20's. It doesn't look like its going to be above freezing until next Thursday though.

Well, I skipped class yesterday because the temperature was only 2 degrees at the time (500-some HS's closed yesterday and today, but not Kent St.), but I went today. It actually felt nice when I got out of my first class...granted it was probably only 5 degrees, but that was better than the -2 when I left.

79 degrees and sunny on Tuesday.....

28 degrees with snow flurries today.

I don't know what the hell is going on around here, but I don't like it! That 79 degree weather was such a tease!
