    Teacher's College

    Hey guys,

    Im from Onatrio but planning on going to TC at D'Youville so that I can teach in the States one day, maybe.

    Anyways, Im looking at admissions and it says I need GPA of 3.0. At my school we deal with letters and actual numbers, out of 100. How do GPAs translate?

    Also, I might go to Australia for TC. It's 30,000$ CDN (compared to 17 at D'Youville in Buffalo) but living on the beach must be nice. Anyone go to TC in Australia?

    Depends on your school's grading system.

    At my high school this is how a grade would transfer...

    94-100 4.0
    87-93 3.0
    77-86 2.0
    70-76 1.0
    0-69- 0.0
    NCAA Vets League: Arkansas Razorbacks (9-2, 6-1)
    MLB OS League: Seattle Mariners (9-2)

      That seems alittle high for a TC admission

        It doesn't matter what the school grading system is, it depends on your high schools.

        If you had an A- it counts as a 4.0 and so on.

        Your school could be 1-100 is an A and if you made a 56, you got a 4.0
        Another school could be 99-100 is an A and if you got a 98 it is a 3.0

        Do you see what I'm saying?

          The most general rule in the USA among high schools, and particularly colleges/universities is:

          90-100 = A = 4.0 x number of credit hours (i.e.: 12 grade points for a 3 hour class)
          80-89 = B = 3.0 x number of credit hours
          70-79 = C = 2.0. . . . and so on

          I would guess that if your cumulative average, weighted by hours, is 80%+, you have a 3.0+.

            4.0 = A
            3.0 = B
            2.0 = C
            1.0 = D

            Add up all of the grades you have gotten in high school using that scale, divide by the number of classes you have taken and that is your GPA.

            Example, if you took 3 classes last semester and got an A, a B and a C, it would go like this:
            4.0(A) + 3.0(B) + 2.0(C) = 9
            9 / 3(classes) = 3

            Your GPA would be a 3.0
