Acne solutions

I am looking for everyone opinions on the best acne medicine...mine isnt bad by any means but im just looking for something outside of going back to the dermatoligist and having to get a perscription.

Proactive works, but I'm too lazy to use it every day because it's a 3 step process.

Could go with Clearasil for men.

They got a face-wash/shave gel/after shave combo that I have...and should start using more.

I used to have acne in H.S., took accutane which cleared up my skin for the next 5 years. I just graduated college last May and all of a sudden, I started breaking out again. I'm in the same boat as you, I don't want to get prescriptions.

I am very loyal to Cetaphil products though, so I'm relying on that to hopefully get me through it.

Yeah I took accutane to, took a couple months to get results but it definitely cleared up my skin. I know quite a few people who used it and some seem to break out again after a while and others don't, hopefully I won't but I'm not gonna be surprised if I do.

Also agree with you Cetaphil seems to work very good.

it can give people some side effects but they test your blood etc before you take it to see if your body can handle it. But that stuff is golden when it comes down to the bottom line of clearing up acne. Worked like a gem and I really had no side effects except I was extra dry in my face and lips. I mean that stuff really turned my life around if anybody knows the horrors you can go through with acne.

Accutane made my brother suicidal if only for a few months. It's listed as a side effect, but after it was done, he did a huge presentation on how he would have rather kept his acne then to ever use that medicine again.

It was that bad for him.

Guess it depends on the person then. That stuff improved my life 100% and I'd do it over and over again.

I use an astringent my mom bought at her hair salon. That plus Proactiv has cleared my face up immediately.

Yeah I never had any problems like that at all, never felt any different while on it, as you said it makes your lips and face kinda dry but other than that I experienced no side effects, and the depression and feeling suicidal is only experienced in a small % of people who take it, but due to it does cause some people to feel that way they have to include it as a side effect just in case.

Definitely improved my life to, I never got acne horribly bad (infact when I first started accutane it made it worse, which is another side effect) but they put me on it due to nothing else would clear up what acne I did get, anyway once I was done I was cleared up all the way, I would absolutely take it again if I had to.
