i too used to think that these things were stupid and pointless, but it's a great way to sort of reunite with high school or college buddies.

i will say though those myspace pages look so cluttered. i use facebook and it's great for me as a university student. you have university networks that allows you to meet people you have in classes or whatever.
I hear that facebook is better.

Email/Phone seem easy enough to me. Much easier and convenient than using Facebook or My Space IMO. Maybe it's the generation gap, but if I really wanted to talk to someone from my past and it was important, I'd call them. If it wasn't important, I'd email them. I doubt I'd even find them on Facebook or My Space though as I don't know one person from the "real world" that's my age that has an account on either.

I haven't used either because I personally don't see the point, but I do understand how they work. I guess I have no interest in touching base with those that I haven't already kept in touch with. I guess another way of looking at it is to say that the friends I've kept around and email/call are the only one's I'm still interested in talking to. I still talk to a few guys from High School and a few from college. Those are the only people I still want to talk to along with the friends I've made along the way in the business world.

Of course, this is coming from a guy with no interest in ever attending a high school or college reunion. I know many people enjoy those things, but like I mentioned above, I've kept in touch with those that I want to talk to. IMO the past is the past and is the past for a reason.

Well, what's the fascination with message boards? Now you're talking to complete strangers rather than people that you have actually known.

I think message boards are different. I use them as a source of information rather than a place to reunite/meet people. Only 1 of my friends plays video games so aside from talking to him about them, this is my place for information. OS is actually the only place I post at daily.

                Facebook >>>>>>> myspace.

Facebook doesn't have people competing with each other to see who's page can have the most pointless, stupid, ugly graphics, backgrounds, music, etc. Myspace has just gotten ridiculous.

And Kredit...I was joking earlier, about the whole stalkin' thing. Though I did make friends with the attractive girls in the grade below me last year in HS through myspace, so it served its purpose for me.

MySpace is only ridiculous if you choose to make it ridiculous. That said, I love the fact that you can express much more individuality on MySpace, as long as you don't make it ridiculous. I think that's where I draw the line on my MySpace. I'm able to give enough about me for you to see what kind of person I am, and you aren't really blinded with anything:

Unfortunately, Blzer, most people choose to make their MySpace ridiculous. So even if you have a decent looking page, you still have to look at everyone else's mess.

well I'm a single guy right now, and when your as good looking as me...LOL and got crazy gilrs freinded me to hang out, it's worth it. I can see it being stupid for married guys, but when your single it's not a bad tool for meeting women in your area..

I don't mess with them, plus I find a ton of people that I knew from way back when on myspace, it's not just for the women, but it's for people to make freinds, there nothing wrong with myspace. Also the reason why I was looking into a myspace tracker, was to see if my ex was looking at my page, thats all.

But you have your page set to private, so she can't see it unless you have her on your friends list anyway.

Why have it in your sig, if no one can view it? LOL
