I saw the most peculiar thing ever today......
My wife and I went to the car wash because my Jeep is filthy from dirt and road salt. We are waiting in line and I look over to see a man wearing a cowboy hat get out of his minivan. That is strange enough to begin with in Massachusetts, but what topped the Minivan cowboy was the cowboy booths and the Bluetooth head set. It was definitely the most peculiar and fascinating things I have ever seen.

I am sure I would, but nonetheless a Cowboy sticks out in Western Mass. I have seen the guy around before, he always dresses this way, even when he is in Court.
We also have a crazy woman in the area who makes her clothes out of masking tape and white garbage bags and rides her bike all over the area. I feel bad for her given she must have something seriously wrong, but the first 5-6 dozen times it certainly is a head turner.Comment

You live off the Mohawk Trail don't you? There used to be this guy who I would see all the time in Amherst. He would be shirtless most of the time, even in winter, unless it was raining in which case he would be wearing a garbage bag for a shirt. Rumor was he was actually loaded ($$$ I mean) but liked to act crazyComment

Re: I saw the most peculiar thing ever today......
Well, I was on Bourbon street, and I saw a lot of peculiar things. First, there was the middle eastern guy that had a turban on. That was funny because he had a bunch of beads on, a furry boa, and a giant foam captian morgan cowboy hat on over his turban. And he was WASTED. Unfortunately, the bouncers "escorted" him out a few minutes later.
Then I saw the coors light promo girls, who were wearing body paint. Just body paint.
Then I left the coors light promo girls, and began to walk down the street again. We walked about 10 feet until I saw a blur of a man flying through the air into the middle of the street. Since I was a little tipsy, it took me a second to realize that it was the captain morgan cowboy turban man that had just been thrown out (and I mean THROWN, he flew through the air, it was insane) of another bar.....
Anyway I could write about 12 pages of this stuff, but I think Bourbon street in NOLA takes the cake for peculiar.
P.S.: I think that place might be heaven. Or hell. I'm not sure which... it's fun though.

We have a guy around the city here in Appleton that rides his bike around with a big american flag on the back, collecting cans. Dunno where he sleeps. Sad part of the story is that he was in the majors at least one yearbadComment

Out on the road today, I saw a DEADHEAD sticker on a caddilac. A little voice in my head said, "Dont look back. You can never look back." I thought I knew what love was. What did I know? Those days are gone forever. I should just let them go but........Comment

Re: I saw the most peculiar thing ever today......
There used to be a guy in Syracuse who would put about 50 pounds of weight plates on the back of an old snow sled, a Flexible Flyer with a wooden plank and metal runners, and strap the sled to his waist with a rope. Then he would run up and down one of the steepest half-mile hills in the city of Syracuse EVERY DAY, rain, snow, shine, heat or freezing, dragging that sled up and down. Every day, up and down, multiple times.
The guy was in his 40s, too. His fitness must have been off the charts. He either was homeless or an ex-con, from what I recall reading in the paper. He never bothered anyone and didn't appear mentally unsettled -- it was just part of his daily routine.
Take care,
