The song is called "life is a dream" by Patrick Park.
________
heres the lyrics
"You say life is a dream where we can't say what we mean
Maybe just some roadside scene that we're driving past
There's no telling where we'll be in a day or in a week
And there's no promises of peace or of happiness
Well is this why you cling to every little thing
And polverize and derrange all your senses
Maybe life is a song but you're scared to song along
Until the very ending
Oh, it's time to let go of everything we used to know
Ideas that strengthen who we've been
It's time to cut ties that won't ever free our minds
From the chains and shackles that they're in
Oh, tell me what good is saying that you're free
In a dark and storming sea
You're chained to your history, you're surely sinking fast
You say that you know that the good Lord's in control
He's gonna bless and keep your tired and oh so restless soul
But at the end of the day when every price has been paid
You're gonna rise and sit beside him on some old seat of gold
And won't you tell me why you live like you're afraid to die
You'll die like you're afraid to go
Oh, it's time to let go of everything we used to know
Ideas that strengthen who we've been
It's time to cut ties that won't ever free our minds
From chains and shackles that they're in
From the chains and shackles that they're in
Well life is a dream 'cause we're all walking in our sleep
You could see us stand in lines like we're dead upon our feet
And we build our house of cards and then we wait for it to fall
Always forget how strange it is just to be alive at all"

I bolded the parts that really stick out to me. I found someone else that explained what he thought the meaning of the song was on another website, so im going to quote him since he pretty much took the words out of my mouth, but pieced it together better than I probably would have.
"I think it's about truly living life. "Maybe life is a song but you're scared to sing along". Scared of rejection and failure but by doing so you're really missing out on life.
The first stanza talks about the unpredictably of life: "there's no promises of peace or of happiness".
The second stanza says that that's why people don't take risks with their lives, because they're frightened, because there are no guarantees. And by the time you realise that it's almost too late and you're dying and there's nothing to do but think about all the opportunites you haven't taken.
Third stanza is saying that it's time to change all this. And it's going to be scary, letting go "of everything you used to know" but it means that when you die you'll be able to say that you've lived.
Fourth stanza. People always talk about being free but most of the time they're not really because they can't bring themselves to escape their own fears and truly take a risk. They use excuses like God and fate but at the end of the day we're all going to die so it makes no sense to waste your life being afraid.
And then the final stanza. Well you're right "life is a dream", but not for the reasons you think it is and it doesn't have to be. Life's a dream because so many people are afraid to live it. They just sleepwalk, going about their day-to-day lives and are possibly not happy but are too frightened to make a change. I think the line "we build our house of cards and then we wait for it to fall" is talking about all our expectations (society's expectations), all the material things that we think are important but at the end of the day it's all a "house of cards" because none of it is really real and important. The final line just takes us out of this material world and makes us appreciate how ridiculous all of these hopes are and how much of a wonder life is.
Fabulous song."
So back to the question, I know near death experiences is probably the most effective way to appriciate life and to have a change in outlook, but other than that has anyone experienced or been able to have a change in style or personality based on something so simple like a song or movie?
