There is a place in Cranston, RI named after its owner "Carmine's." He's an old Italian guy that makes one of the best subs I've ever had. He calls it the veggie grinder.
It consists of potatoes, green bell pepper, mushrooms, onions, zucchini and white cheddar cheese on a soft 12 inch roll.
I have come close to duplicating it, but there's just nothing better getting it firsthand.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Re: I'm eating a good sandwich right now...
Yep... Monday through Friday (or Thursday during Lent). I like it so I don't bother changing much. I could get ham or something else to switch it up, but something would probably go bad by the time I got around to eating it. 1 lb of turkey lasts me about a week and a half and I think that's probably pushing it's shelf life. Of course I could get 1/2 lbs of different meat so none went bad, but I don't think anything else I like is as healthy as turkey...Comment

As far as regular sandwiches go, I'd have to go with a rueben. They can be pretty tasty.
I also had a sandwich at a Deli where I went to school in Tacoma called MSN, and the turkey sandwich I had there was awesome. Just had some turkey, swiss cheese, sprouts, mayo, and mustard on a french roll. I had to go pick one of those up every week or so when I was in school."You should only drink to enhance your social skills." -Barney GumbleComment

Next time don't bother posting in a sandwich thread with that poor excuse for gerbil food
Direct from the home of the Sleepless Knights
Skirt Steak marinated in a Teryaki/brown sugar/honey/ginger(and other spices) marinade.....cooked to perfection on the grill and sliced....with roasted peppers(bell peppers from the market with salt pepper and basil rubbed with olive oil) tomatoes...fried onions...lettuce(all optional or as we like to say...."roll your own")..topped with some melted fresh mozzerella(brought in to the firehouse by one of the guys who lives in Brooklyn...it's outrageously good and we make some tasty apps with it!) on some nice Italian Bread.
The other is Buffalo Chicken sandwiches...which is breaded chicken cutlets..fried, dipped in buffalo wing sauce(I'm not a big spicy guy...but it's friggin' good) on Italian or French bread with shreaded lettuce....bleu cheese or ranch dressing and optional muenster or swiss melted on top. The sauce is nothing but Frank's Red Hot Sauce....butter(plenty) and honey cooked in a saucepan until it reduces a little. Try it...you'll like it!

My favorite sandwich has to be the simple TLT with a little mayo and some provolone & cheddar. I rarely get any good bread, but if I had the option some nice french bread would go with it nicely. I love to eat big complex sandwiches like Knight posted, but I don't have the time or patience to create them in their full masterpiece glory.Comment

Those both sound absolutely amazing. I will have to attempt to make them sometime.

The Buffalo Chicken sandwich is really easy and if you want to just have it without the bread and a little side of cole slaw....it's great that way too!
