Re: Credit cards with "rewards"
My wife and I have three rewards cards. The first is a card from Capital One which gives us 3% cash back on gas purchases and anything at drug stores and grocery stores. The second is an American Express Blue which we get generic points on we can use. The third is the American Express TrueEarnings card which we got from Costco which gives us 3% cash back on anything at restaurants, 2% cash back on traveling, and 1% everywhere else. We pay each credit card off each month so we really do get "rewards" for doing nothing. None of these cards have any yearly fees either. -

I have a Carnival Cruiseline card. We pay it off monthly, but earn money towards a free cruise. In just over a year, we have a 5 day free cruise right now.Comment

Re: Credit cards with "rewards"
I get a cashback reward with my Discover Card. I have no idea how it's calculated though. I usually don't touch it until it's close to $100. Once it reaches that, I'll just put it into my checking account or towards the next bill.
I guess it's nice since I use my Discover for gas, dinners and anything over $50. If someone doesn't pay off a CC every month, the cashback bonus reward is almost useless as I think the interest would probably offset the cashback reward. Since I pay mine off every month, it's like getting free money. So definitely pay it off every month.Comment

Re: Credit cards with "rewards"
I use BP Rewards and love it. I get 5% back on all gas purchases, 2 or 3% at the grocery. And 1% on everything else. You can get a check or BP gift cards.
BP also has good priced gas and they are EVERYWHERE!University of Evansville Graduate
