Re: About to ask some girl to prom
Thinking back on prom...I'm glad I didn't go.
Mainly because every one I knew who went said the dance sucked, and I still go to go to the after parties. Plus...the girl I asked thought I was kidding because I asked her in February...so I just gave up and hung out with a group of friends that didn't go.
Never got the big deal about proms. Waste of money.Comment

Re: About to ask some girl to prom
Prom is definitely not worth the trouble, for me anyways. The last month has been ridiculous, especially the last two days...check this POS situation out:
A little over a month ago, this one girl, who is pretty much my best friend, asked me if I wanted to go with her, and of course I said yes. For the next 3 weeks I was under the impression that we were going and that everything was normal. Then she decided to randomly drop a bomb, and tell me that my one friend (whom, the week before, broke up with his girlfriend) asked her if she wanted to go with him. Even after her friends tried to talk her out of it, she pulled a completely bitch move and ditched me. Being the "cuddle bitch" that I am, I played it off like I was fine with it, but in reality I wanted to kill both of them.
I finally just said screw it and got over it. Then about a week ago, she kept telling me how she regretted her decision because she heard that my friend was going to try and have sex with her after prom, and how she was afraid because she didn't think he would stop if she told him no. I really don't know why she was telling me this, as if I could do a damn thing about it, but that's not here nor there.
Now the part where it gets really ridiculous. A bunch of us were staying at my friend's house on Sunday night, and I guess they were IM'ing each other or whatever, and he brought up the subject. He basically told me everything that she heard, that he was only going with her for sex and that if he didn't get any, prom wasn't worth it. Knowing that my best friend was worried and scared that he'd try something, I told her, because I thought she had a right to know that someone wanted to use her. She got crazy upset over the whole thing, and told him that she didn't want to go with him anymore and that she'd rather go with me instead. Pretty horrible timing, because the next 3 hours we were there consisted of them calling me a girl, a bitch, etc.. I could hear them saying stuff about me when I was trying to sleep to. It's none of their business really, except for the kid that was going to go with her. I guess they try to find any excuse to go against me, but whatever.
I said I'd go with her again since she was left dateless now, and I didn't think anyone would make a big deal out of it, but when I got to school everyone was on me about it. They basically said if I go with her after what she did to me a month ago, just ditch me, then they'd never talk to me again. So that got me thinking, is it really that wrong that I'm going with her? I thought I was doing the right thing, but now I have some doubts. I have a hard time believing all of this was worth it.
2. You lose points for ratting your boy out.
3. And you lose even more points for agreeing to go with her after she dogged you out the first time.
Sounds like you lost the respect of your boys and this girl now knows that she has you wrapped around her finger.
HOWEVER! All is forgiven if she is hot. So...is she hot?Comment

1. You lose points for allowing her to disrespect you like she did.

Re: About to ask some girl to prom
If the girl is his best friend, then he has an obligation to tell her about anything that might put her in a compromising position. The man-code stuff doesn't apply when the girl is a better friend than the guy. Obviously, the guy isn't worth defending if he's just going after her to bone her.
That said, it's pathetic what she did to him, and I don't know if I would want to go with her after she dumped me as a date to begin with.Comment

Forget that.

But I guess he did the right thing...Comment

Re: About to ask some girl to prom
JJLinn you did the right thing. Don't worry about your "boys" dogging you for the man code stuff. Actually you did two things adult like. Number one you looked out for someone you cared for, and made sure something didn't happen that might hurt her the rest of her life. Number two you showed forgiveness and was the bigger person. If you don't get laid it's ok. There is tons of girls at college for that to happen, but looking out for a friend in need is better than getting laid in this situation IMO.President of the Devils Den

JJ, from what you have said it seems that this girl is far more likely to be your friend 10 years from now than those other guys. Sure, what she did to you was ****ty, but c'est la vie. You were the bigger person, and even though she hurt you, you protected her and did the right thing. The maturity that shows for a HS kid is amazing.Comment

Re: About to ask some girl to prom
So, let me get this straight... JJ refers to himself as a cuddle bitch.
Then does nothing but to further prove that to be true.
NoSkillz50 just found out about alcohol, it seems like.
Then says he loves drunk girls... because he's definitely the only one, right?Comment
