I, myself, drive a '95 Altima which has been completely revamped. This old third-hand car has been revamped so much with my father and I working on it. It was once a car that got my mother from home to work and vice versa, but is now a very clean car.
...Paint job, spoiler, side skirts, sound system, head lights, tail lights, etc... my dad and I have been doing a lot. However, what I enjoy most is just working with him... bonding basically. That's our time to get away from his work and my work and school and just chill.
We have put about 2 to 3 grand into this car, with only about a grand payed off by me thus far... and he expects me to pay every penny, including car insurance, phone bills, and gas; but deservedly so.
I'll get some before and after pics if I can...
As far as car stories...
I was an idiot one night with my friend... I drive about 15 MPH passing through a closed area when my genius buddy pulls the e-brake, causing me to sort of drift (he was infatuated with Tokyo Drift), but more of skid. I then continue to hit/run over a curb. Low and behold, an off duty cop followed and when I parked to see the damage, he boxed me in. Mind you, I have only been driving for 3 months...
...Long story short... I was cited for 2 counts wreckless driving: 1 for "off-roading by continually running over curbs multiple times" and "screeching my wheels to exhibit speed and initiating a race" (quotes from my tickets). Cop made me call my parents with the latter ticket being a misdemeanor.
EDIT: Forgot to mention the cop said I was a wannabe thug driving like an ***hole.
I was forced to attend driver improvement school and I was forced to go to court.
End result: 2 Tickets, 8 Points, 40 hours of driver's school, $400 in fines, and a plead of "no contest".
