But now that I'm finishing up and a new co-ed league is starting up, I'm starting to have some pain in my elbow from throwing. In the beginning of the season, when I was throwing the ball in from deep in the field, my arm would never bother me, but as the season wore on, after about 2 or 3 long throws, my elbow would start hurting. Now basically after a long throw from the OF or a hard throw from 3B to first, it starts aching.

As I'm tying this, my elbow is throbbing. I played two games last night at 3rd and it acted up again. Any ideas what I've done? I'm thinking maybe just the tendons are swollen aka tendonitis, but I'm not really sure and to be honest, it's pretty painful. Ok would be doctors, what's your prognosis? Have any of you all experienced this? And now, most importantly, it's screwing up my golf swing.
I have the EXACT same problem as you. My first couple throws will have no pain and then after that if im throwing from the OF my arm kills! more specifically my elbow. at times it hurts so much i can barely move it. I've also experienced the throbbing you have PLENTY. I've actually felt like passing out from the pain once it was so bad.

I was gettin x-rays on my finger the other day and asked the doctor to check out my elbow as well. They took x-rays and found nothing. The doctor was pretty much useless, He just said to start taking physio and never actually told me what was wrong with me.
    You're not alone.

        Re: Softball

This year, we're very average. Our hitting basically has one strong inning and then can't do anything else the rest of the game.

Two weeks ago, we blew a 9-1 lead against the best team in the league, who was undefeated. We ended up losing 18-15.

Last week, we managed to play a complete game, and won 19-10. Over the last month, I went from 10th in the lineup to leadoff. I went 2 for 4 two weeks ago, 3 for 4, double, RBI, 3 runs last week. I also managed three outs at home.

I love playing though. However, the heat has been ridiculous as it's still over 90 degrees with humidity even at 5:30 or 6:30 in the afternoon.

Definitely tendonitis... Also could be diagnosed as "Tennis Elbow". It sucks.. because when it acts up... it's a pretty annoying injury.

I like softball ok, but I've become an ultimate frisbee convert the past two summers.

You feel much better about going out and drinking beers afterwards if you've run around for 2 hours

yeah, but that requires running and softball does not. then I go drink many beers afterwards and the only thing that hurts in the morning is my head. I deal with it.
