    Oversized Kidney

    Hey guys,

My g/f just got diagnosed with an oversized kidney. It's 1.5 times larger than the other one. The doctor said its nothing to worry right now. Thats what scares us.

What experiences do people have with this?

Maybe this might help put your mind at ease. About 5 years ago I was told the same while I was being checked out for back problems. The doctor had me get some blood tests and a MRI.-I waited forever for the results back! everything wrong was going through my head. I came out clean as a whistle. I was told later that some people have larger than normal vital organs. Guess I'm one of them. I think the blood test I had was for cancer, has this test been performed for her? I hope everything comes out ok. I'll add that to my list of prayers. ADD ON: I just asked my wife if she remembers if it was both my kidneys or one of them. She said it was just one of them, and it was also mal-shaped too. It's been over 5 years and I'm still alright.

I'm not a doctor, but I know there are some on the forum here. I would trust their words more so than anyone else. Also, if don't like the opinion of her doctor seek out a second opinion.

I know that you can live with one kidney, so thats got to be some encouraging news. Also, its probably not the best idea to be seeking medical advice on a sports forum.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Maybe, kidney stones? ? I had that once and every step seemed like a new adventure in pain. I first thought it was my back till I went to the doctor. Sometimes the stone will disenegrate-and-sometimes it requires medical attention.
I have a bad back that never will be better(compressed, misaligned disc from a auto accident) I understand pain and sincerely hope and pray your girl gets better. Sound off all you want,I'm hear to listen!
