Does anyone here own a parrot?

No,this isn't a new joke thread. I was just curious if anyone still keeps these intelligent creatures. With alot of people living in townhouses, condos, apartments it can be tough to own a pet that can start sounding off at any moment. So,if you do have one(or more)what kind do you have? how long you had it? does it talk? or anything else you can think of you'd like to say. I've had parrots for over the last 15 years. I had to find homes for my bunch after we had to move. Now,I'm in a place where it doesn't matter and I have a young Maximillan Pionus. The most gentle, intelligent bird I've ever seen. I've yet to name him-only had him a week. He's a hand fed that's 11 months old. He's a little smaller than a typical Amazon/green body with a slightly purple-ish/blue chest. He can talk a little. Good morning and hello.
that bird has a way though of doing comical things that can turn whatever ticked you off into laughter. They are little acrobats, comedians, and very curious. Thanks for reading my long thread

I have never actually owned one, but I've grown up with them. We had a red spectacled amazon until he died when I was 7. Soon after that, my parents bought a goffin and a moluccan cockatoo. We still have the goffin and he is the craziest bird I've been around. Limited vocabulary compared to what I remember of the amazon, but much more energetic (could have had something to do with the amazon's age.) What a great source of comedic relief though. Sit with him for a few minutes and he'll make you laugh somehow.

    Here he is: Casper

Nice pic, thanks for putting it up. At our local feed store, they have a cockatoo that stays on the owners shoulder and greets everyone! he even rolls a little stick around in his mouth and pushes it on the table like a trained seal. It's funny, they have a Amazon too, that when you walk in the store,he's very likely to go "uh-oh" and it sounds very human. Good stuff
