USF might have been referring to the incident where an escaped convict killed a sheriff's deputy? Just a guess.

I just remember a news story where a student drove his SUV threw a college park area and killed&Injured some kids and the major news outlets buried the story. I thought it happened at VT but I guess I am wrong.

Hillsborough — A man accused of driving a sport utility vehicle through a crowd of UNC students will be placed at Dorothea Dix Hospital after he made disparaging remarks in court Monday.

During the hearing, Mohammed Taheri-azar yelled that he "hates all Americans" and "hates all Jews." Taheri-azar then looked at Superior Court Judge Ken Titus and asked him what his name was and then asked him to spell it. Taheri-azar then looked at his attorney and said, "I don't know him."

Taheri-azar also called his attorney "a moron" and said "hasta luego," before he was removed from the courtroom.

Titus ordered that Taheri-azar be sent to the hospital to determine whether he is competent to stand trial.

Giggas, every other news company, and the feds themselves, are reporting at LEAST 29. It's horrible, but that seems to be more reliable to me. Hopefully not.

I'm glad someone else remembers the SUV story, because the MSM did indeed try to bury it.

Anyone know if VT campus security are allowed to carry firearms? I don't believe so, but don't know for sure....

Is it that wrong for me to try to hold on to the smaller number? Instead of jumping to 7 more deaths? Any one of those numbers to you could have been one of my friends or former classmates.

just crazy that no one stopped him. I know it's easier said than done, but damn. Someone could of came up behind him and whacked him over the head or something. Just crazy he did all this with a pistol.

I'm hearin' Gunman was Asian, mid 20s, black leather jacket, w/ vest,VT ball cap, equipped w/ 2 9's and ammo...confirmed dead w/ self inflicted gunshot wounds.
it's 2 bad the feds didn't get to open fire on the piece of $hit!

Did you not see the "Hopefully not." part of the post?

I was merely saying that every other news is reporting at least seven more deaths. It's a horrible reality, but it seems to be, indeed, a reality.

Again, it's disgusting and horrible. I wish it was still 22 dead, because I have three friends down there that I still haven't heard from that could be any of those 22, or any of the 7+ more. Hell, they could be one of the injured ones.

There's no point trying to rationalize this- its just a momentous tragedy. Back in college, the last thing I thought about was gun violence and I went to college in NYC!
