now some ****** has called in a bomb threat on UT's campus, my gf's roommate just got evacuated. Stupid *** copy cats. I hate people sometimes.

I don't think it is as easy to get ahold of students as you would think.

All that needs to be done is a e-mail to the central server which emails everyone. That's not that hard to do.

First off, my thoughts and condolences to everyone at VT. Secondly, I'm honestly going to be a little paranoid to go to classes here at Kent the next few days. I always kinda worry about the whole copycat thing in the week or two after a shooting, and quite frankly, Kent has a lot of students and not all of them are level-headed people.

Very sad day, and as corrected earlier, likely a senseless, cowardly, murder-suicide.

I hate when this stuff happens, since the media, parents, politicians, lobbyists, social groups, etc. just throw every wild theory at the wall and see what sticks.

Will it be videogames again? Myspace, YouTube? Let the blame begin...

But until then, a prayer for all the grieving families and students affected today.

First off, my thoughts and condolences to everyone at VT. Secondly, I'm honestly going to be a little paranoid to go to classes here at Kent the next few days. I always kinda worry about the whole copycat thing in the week or two after a shooting, and quite frankly, Kent has a lot of students and not all of them are level-headed people.

I don't think you should worry, I would imagine tons of security will be hired by colleges and schools across the country.

I would say most students don't check it.

Plus, a lot of students have two (or more) e-mail accounts. One, which is their personal email and the 2nd is the university one.

Hey everyone, I currently go to Virginia Tech. I am fine as is all of my friends. It is still a very surreal and sad day.

I haven't read through all 22 pages, but I did see something of people questioning what Tech could have done differently. Honestly I don't think there is much else they could have done. This is a huge campus. They did send out emails, starting at 9:28 and another at 9:54. Could these have come out sooner? Sure.

Anyway, I am still in shock over this happening at my school. Please send all your thoughts and prayers to all those involved here at Virginia Tech.
