    Anyone good at math?

I have a Math exam due tomorrow. There are Sixteen questions, and out of all of them I can only answer One(# 11). I was hoping maybe there were some math geniuses on the forums, and maybe one of them could help me out.

    This is the test

    Any takers?

You expect me to remember all that lame *** trig crap when I've gone through calculus and differential equations?

    Here's some tips:

    For a circle: x^2 + y^2 = a^2

    Ellipse: x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 = 1

    Parabola: y^2 = 4ax

    Hyperbola: x^2/a^2 - y^2/b^2 = 1

Don't forget your order of operations when you factor:

exponents and roots, multiply and divide, subtract and add

    y-intercept is "b" in the slope intercept equation: y = mx + b, and the x-intercept is where y = 0 (think you can solve that ).

Simple factoring and distributive properties my friend. Enjoy!

The foci are located on the axis of symmetry...figured I should throw that out there too!

Do your own damn homework. Most of us have worked too damn hard to get where we are to just turn around and make it easy on someone else.

            That is correct.

Edit: Game over, I'm throwing in the towel. I don't know how to do any of this.

Dude, I don't think question 3 is factorable.....there are no factors of 4 that subtract to get -4, so I think it's already factored completely.

Yeah, number three isn't factorable anymore. That's the only one I could do. I haven't taken a math class in awhile.

                    Re: Anyone good at math?

I missed two classes last week, so I don't know what I'm doing. I would have asked for help on Monday but the road were horrible, so I didn't risk driving up there.

#11 was easy, the rest are impossible to me. I can't even bull**** them all because I don't have a clue how to start the problems.
