My last two finals are tomorrow (plus that essay). I swear, this semester went by very quickly... this week, however, went by just as long as the rest of the semester did.
How in the world is there only one week left this semester?

Re: How in the world is there only one week left this semester?
I have an English final at 11:15. It's an essay, so I'll have to bull**** all of it when I get there. Then I have a Biology final tomorrow. I should probably study tonight. After that Biology final tomorrow, I am off until May 25th. Then I start History in the summer. Gay.
I'm looking at an A-, B , F , and an F for this semester. Retaking History over the summer, so one of those F's should be at least bumped up to a C. I'll retake Math in the fall, which I hope will boost that up to a C as well.
I sucked at school this semester. Considering my lowest grade in any class(ever) was C-, prior to this semester.Comment

Re: How in the world is there only one week left this semester?
Wouldn't that only help, though? They can't deduct points because of a curve, can they?
And anyway, no, the only thing they do to alter grades is remove the lowest quiz grade, which in my case was a 30.
My grades:
Quizzes: 80, 90, 30, 80, 85, 100, 80, 100, 85
Exams: 86, 92, 83
Final: 85
Now, even with the 30 averaged in, my quiz average is an 81.1, my exam average is an 87, and I got an 85 on the final.
How the heck does that average out to a C+?
Note: Already sent the professor an e-mail asking the same thing. This, not only will give me my first C in my history, but also drops me below a 3.2 which I need....and the grade doesn't even make sense.Comment

Curves can help in tough subjects but in easy subjects they can hurt.
That is messed up, good luck getting it changed. I hope you didn't have a prof like my old Ethics professor. He was eventually sent on "sabbatical" when he lowered grades of students he didn't like. Really the person I want teaching Ethics.Comment

I'd go to the Dean if that isn't fixed. You got robbed. No way with just that one 30 on a quiz do you have a C+. The only way you could is if the teacher didn't like you, but then you could get him in trouble for being biased.President of the Devils Den

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: How in the world is there only one week left this semester?
Development of Western Civilization.
Providence requires all their students to take four semesters of it. It meets everyday, 4 days of the week are lectures with 80-90 kids, and then once a week you break into seminar groups of about 20.
It's a horribly boring class...but still.Comment
