    Re: Luffa/Loofa/Loufa/Loofah?

I have a guy I play hockey with who uses a loofah in the shower after games. We never stop giving him a hard time about that. Its one thing to use it in the privacy of your own bathroom, but to bring it to a locker room communal shower, well, that's just wrong.

I'm quoting this for excellence. It's not everyday you get to use the rag on a stick quote and make it relevant in conversation.

Thats funny, I had Yoplait in my MBA marketing class. We had to create an entire marketing campaign including a rollout of new products. We also had to send our plan to the VP at Yoplait.

Anyway, we came up with making pre-made energy shakes with Yoplait and a few other things, but it was 2 years ago. It was much easier to market to kids and women. Yogurt consumption at that time was about 50/50 boys to girls, but adults over 18 was like 20% men to 80% women.

I've been using them for the past 4 or 5 years as well. Nothing feels better than a stream of suds rolling slowly down yo....umm..nevermind.

Wish I could find the actual commercial...but Craig "Ironhead" Heyward did a commercial in which he was using one of these things. It sold me. I've used one since.

              Here's a parody of Ironhead's commercial:

              <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EDcIwBzWhJQ"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EDcIwBzWhJQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Nah, I just go with the manliest approach and pick the pink one. No one messes with a man that uses a pink luffa. Or so I tell myself. When my GF saw it, she just shook her head. I said "yeah, thats right"

Yeah, I remember the Ironhead commercial. I'm pretty sure he said "Shut up smelly boy" at some point in it.

Edit: Wow, I had completely forgotten that he died last year.

I use them religiously. Most every guy in unit in Iraq used them too, if that makes a difference to you. You just feel cleaner when you use a loofa.

Dude, I got that right away when you said it. I was going to search for the picture but clicked on page 2 and saw you posted it. Nice one.

Yeah the Ironhead commercial was the first thing I thought of too. I've never used one but been thinking about buying one...along with steak and beer.

I guess I'm old school. I use soap.

Body wash and luffa's and all of these men's "beauty" products that have emerged in the last few years don't appeal to me.

Men are becoming as insecure as chicks these days about their appearance. It's pretty funny.

Dont knock it till you try it. You feel more cleaner with a loofa, no lie. I been back in forth depending on where I wash up at and my loofa always leaves me feeling fresh and smelling better. Its not like guys are out here wiping wrinkle free cream on their face.
